2025 KTM 1390 Super Adventure R with 171BHP Bigger V-twin Engine Marks Global Debut
The 2025 KTM 1390 Super Adventure R has a manually adjustable 48mm WP Apex Xplor USD fork, 1,350cc, 75-degree V-twin, and an 8-inch vertically mounted touchscreen display.
KTM has unveiled the 1390 Super Adventure R globally, with a beefed-up 1,350cc engine and a host of upgrades. As the flagship model in KTM's Super Adventure lineup, it is set to join the S Evo as one of the most premium and expensive adventure tourers, although pricing details are currently unknown. Production of this beast is scheduled to begin in 2025, but there’s no official confirmation on its India launch yet. Industry reports, however, suggest that the 1390 Super Adventure R could make its debut in India as a 2026 model. Until then, here’s a closer look at the key features of KTM’s flagship tourer.
2025 KTM 1390 Super Adventure R: What’s More?
The 2025 KTM 1390 Super Adventure R has LED lighting and a shorter windshield that enhances airflow during intense riding. It now has a stiffer frame that ensures improved stability and handling on rugged terrains, and reinforced crash bars for extra protection in challenging environments. The bike also sports a slimmer tail portion, contributing to a more agile and responsive ride. The overall design is aggressively styled, staying true to KTM's distinctive aesthetics. The signature orange trellis frame and the striking contrast of blue and white hues add to the bold and dynamic look.

Unlike the S Evo’s advanced semi-active suspension, the 1390 Super Adventure R adopts a more traditional approach with its suspension setup with manually adjustable 48mm WP Apex Xplor USD forks and a rear shock absorber, both delivering 220mm of travel. For braking, the bike is equipped with Brembo Stylema monobloc callipers that grip 320mm front discs and a 267mm rear disc. The 1390 Super Adventure R rolls on tubeless wire-spoke wheels, with a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear setup.
The heart of the updated 1390 Super Adventure R is a new 1,350cc, 75-degree V-twin, featuring KTM's innovative cam-shift technology. This unit delivers a robust 171bhp at 9,500rpm and 145Nm of torque at 8,000rpm. Thanks to the cam-shift system, the focus is on providing a broad, usable power band rather than chasing peak numbers, giving riders a smooth, responsive experience whether tackling highways or rough trails.
Camshift technology utilizes two distinct cam profiles to enhance engine performance across a broad range of revs. Performance is significantly improved at higher revs when the inlet cams move sideways, opening the valves higher and longer to allow more gas to flow into the cylinder head. At lower revs, the inlet cams have less lift and valve timing. This leads to a significant improvement in rideability on both high-performance routes and regular road conditions.
