Kia Carens Facelift Spotted Testing in India; Shows Updated Front Styling and More

Kia India is preparing to launch the next-generation Carens MPV in India. A test mule of the upcoming model was recently spotted testing on our roads. The spy images of the test mule reveal a range of details regarding the facelifted version of the popular premium MPV. The latest shots give us a sneak peek at the car's redesigned look, which appears to be inspired by the company's forthcoming all-electric EV model range. According to several industry reports, Kia plans to debut the Carens facelift in India next year. The car will arrive on our shores with extensive exterior and interior design improvements.

Kia Carens Facelift: Design Cues
Along with incorporating styling cues from Kia's most recent models, the new Carens will sport the brand's latest design language. A range of significant updates to the MPV's front fascia will include a new grille design with integrated LED DRLs and reworked headlamps that blend into the bumper. For a more contemporary appearance, the front and rear bumpers will both have a new layout. Moreover, revamped LED lights and a reworked tailboard will be seen on the back profile. The side profile won't change all that much, except for the newly designed alloy wheels.
Kia Carens Facelift: Powertrain Options
When it comes to engine specifications, the Kia Carens facelift is expected to retain its current engine options: a 1.5-litre petrol engine, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The three mills have respective power outputs of 115bhp, 160bhp, and 115bhp. The torque ratings range from 144Nm, 253Nm, to 250Nm, respectively. Furthermore, the South Korean automaker will probably launch a new electric version of the Carens MPV in India.
The model will come equipped with the same gearbox options as the present-generation Carens. In addition to a six-speed manual gearbox, the company will offer a six-speed iMT, a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, and a six-speed torque converter automatic.

Besides, the Carens may potentially receive a suite of Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), which consists of functions like adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring.

Kia Carens Facelift: Expected Price
The ex-showroom pricing of the latest Kia Carens ranges from Rs 10.51 lakh to Rs 19.66 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom figures. Owing to the updated features, a modest price rise for the facelifted version is anticipated. Following its release, the upcoming Carens facelift will go up against the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Toyota Rumion, Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV700, and Maruti Suzuki XL6. It will also be a more reasonably priced alternative for the Maruti Suzuki Invicto and Toyota Innova Hycross.
