Maruti Suzuki Ignis Black Edition Reaches Dealerships in India
Maruti Suzuki recently marked its 40th anniversary by introducing Black Editions of its Arena and Nexa models. The cars get a new exterior colour called Pearl Midnight Black with this update. These Black Edition models have now begun to arrive at dealerships across India.
Maruti Suzuki, one of the leading automakers in India, celebrated its 40th anniversary by introducing Black Editions of some of its popular models. These cars receive a new exterior colour called Pearl Midnight Black. The models have officially started to arrive at Nexa and Arena showrooms across the country. The Ignis Black Edition has just entered the fray and is available at dealers. The Maruti Suzuki Ignis Black Edition rides on piano black alloy wheels and wears the previously mentioned Pearl Midnight Black body paint. The Ignis Black Edition's grille and headlamps are framed in chrome for aesthetic purposes. Notably, there are two Ignis Black Edition variants available: Zeta and the top-spec Alpha trim. Meanwhile, the second phase of the BS6 emissions norms will go into effect on April 1, 2023. With this in mind, all automakers are updating their vehicles, and Maruti Suzuki recently launched the 2023 RDE-compliant Ignis for Rs 5.82 lakh (ex-showroom).
The sole petrol engine in the Ignis hatchback has been updated to meet upcoming Real Driving Emission (RDE) standards. The hatchback is also available in six monotone and two dual-tone colour schemes. Some of the monotone colours are Turquoise Blue, Lucent Orange, Nexa Blue, Glistening Grey, Silky Silver, and Pearl Arctic White. Nexa Blue (Black, Grey Roof) and Lucent Orange with a Black roof are two of its dual-tone paint options, which cost Rs 14,000 more than standard paint.

2023 Maruti Suzuki Ignis: Engine and Gearbox
The Ignis' mechanical configuration remains unchanged. It is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 82bhp of maximum power and 113Nm of peak torque. It is paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT transmission. However, in order to comply with upcoming RDE regulations, Maruti Suzuki has updated this engine. Furthermore, the Ignis' petrol engine has a fuel efficiency of 20.89km/l, according to the auto manufacturer.
2023 Maruti Suzuki Ignis: Features
In the 2023 Ignis, Maruti Suzuki added two new safety features: the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Hill-Hold Assist. Other safety features include twin airbags, ABS, and ISOFIX child seat mounts in the hatchback. The all-new Ignis comes standard with every one of these features. A 7-inch infotainment touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is still a feature of the car, along with a tilt steering wheel, start/stop ignition button, automatic climate control, auto ORVMs, and automatic wipers.

2023 Maruti Suzuki Ignis: Price and Market Competitors
The Maruti Suzuki Ignis has received a Rs 27,000 price increase. The hatchback is available in four trim levels: Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. The manual Ignis variants now cost between Rs 5.82 lakh and Rs 7.59 lakh, while the automatic variants cost between Rs 6.91 lakh and Rs 8.14 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. The Ignis, which debuted in 2017, received cosmetic updates in 2020 as well. It competes with other low-cost hatchbacks such as the Tata Tiago, the newly updated Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, and the Maruti Suzuki Swift.
