Maruti Suzuki Swift Waiting Period Reaches up to 3 Weeks in India
The all-new Maruti Suzuki Swift went on sale in India in May, with prices ranging between Rs 6.49 lakh and Rs 9.64 lakh (both, ex-showroom). It has five variants – LXi, VXi, VXi (O) ZXi, and ZXi+.
The all-new Maruti Suzuki Swift, which sold over 35,000 units since its launch in under two months, currently has a waiting period of as long as three weeks from the date of booking in India. The revised hatch went on sale here in May, with prices ranging between Rs 6.49 lakh and Rs 9.64 lakh (both, ex-showroom). It has five variants – LXi, VXi, VXi (O) ZXi, and ZXi+, and multiple exterior colour options. Design-wise, the new iteration is a quintessential Swift, with some notable exterior and interior upgrades such as LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs, a shiny black grille, diamond-cut alloy wheels, LED fog lights, a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen, and cruise control. Maruti Suzuki Swift: Engine
Maruti Suzuki now offers a Z-series 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine in the Swift that makes 80bhp at 5,700rpm and 112Nm of peak torque at 4,300rpm, which is somewhat less than the previous K-Series engine. The new mill has two gearbox options: a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed automatic. The claimed mileage is 25.75km/l for the AMT and 24.80km/l for the manual version.
Maruti Suzuki Swift: Features
The fourth-generation Swift is equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Type-C charging port, auto climate control, an analogue instrument cluster, Arkamys sound system, rear AC vents, keyless entry, and push-button start/stop. It has ISOFIX anchors, rear parking sensors, a hill start assist, ESC, six airbags, ABS with EBD, and seatbelt reminders for all seats.
Maruti Suzuki Swift: Market Competitors
The redesigned Swift continues to lock horns with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and the Tata Tiago in India, and some versions of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, the Hyundai i20, and the Tata Altroz.

Maruti Suzuki June Sales 2024
Maruti Suzuki India reported that its overall sales in June grew by 12% to over 1.79 lakh units. In the domestic market, the carmaker sold about 1.37 lakh passenger vehicles, marking an increase of 3% from 1.33 lakh units sold in the same month last year. According to Maruti Suzuki India, its international shipments stood at 31,033 units last month, up from 19,770 units dispatched in June 2023.
