Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 Launched at Rs 2.25 Crore in India

Mercedes-Maybach has launched the EQS SUV in India at a starting price of Rs 2.25 crore (ex-showroom). The first-ever electric Maybach is available in a single fully loaded trim called the 680, which offers a range of up to 611 kilometers (WLTP) on a single charge. It also comes with a host of comfort features, including a 56-inch MBUX hyperscreen and a 15-speaker Burmester 4D surround sound system. Dimensionally, the EQS measures 5,125mm in length, 2,034mm in width, and 1,725mm in height. Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680: Powertrain

The premium electric SUV features a 122kWh battery and two permanent synchronous motors on each axle, which makes it a 4x4 vehicle. The power and torque figures are 649bhp and 950Nm, respectively. Perfomance-wise, the EQS has a 0-100km/h sprint time of 4.4 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds faster than the EQS 580. It boasts a maximum speed of 210km/h. Other noteworthy features of the e-SUV include a rear-wheel steering system that can tilt between 2.5 and 10 degrees depending on speed, an adjustable height suspension system, and 200kW DC rapid charging that allows for 300 kilometers in 20 minutes.

Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680: Exterior and Interior 

The Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 boasts a unique dual-tone paint scheme, with the upper portion painted in darker hues of black or blue and the lower part in Selenite Gray, Silver, Kalahari Gold, or Velvet Brown. Its front end is dominated by a 3-pointed star logo on the bonnet, Maybach lettering, and vertical slats that take on the grille. There are also air inlets embellished with the Maybach trademark patterns in addition to an advanced HD system with one million pixels per headlight that adjusts itself based on data obtained from the camera, sensors, and navigation system. The sleek door handles, optional 21-inch wheels, and the Maybach insignia on the D-pillars take center stage in the side profile. At the rear, the LED light features a 3D helix pattern and an interesting start-up feature. In addition, there's a chrome-finished roof spoiler and a rear apron exclusive to Maybachs.

Inside, the electric SUV features Active Ambient Lighting, with 64 colours and 13 lighting settings, including Maybach-exclusive themes like Rose Gold and Amethyst Glow. It provides a luxurious experience with three high-quality OLED screens spanning the center console, driver, and passenger parts of the dashboard. The two additional screens, located behind the front seats for back passengers, contribute to the overall elegance.

The MBUX system displays augmented reality navigation alongside real-world images captured by the car's front camera. Other notable bits include Nappa leather seats, powered curtains, and five drive modes (Eco, Sport, Offroad, Individual, and Maybach). For safety, the SUV gets 360-degree cameras, ADAS, ABS, multiple airbags, EBD, and traction control.
