MG Hector Plus Facelift: Exterior Design
Contrary to the pre-facelift models, which had a slightly different design, the Hector Plus facelift is strikingly similar to the updated Hector. The Hector Plus features a brand-new fascia up front with sharp lines and distinct angles. With a new diamond-like pattern and an angular chrome surround that seamlessly blends with the high-mounted LED Daytime Running Lamps, the grille has significantly increased in size. Along with getting a revised pentagonal shape that echoes the grille, the main headlamp cluster on the bumper now has gloss black surrounds. A new chrome surround for the central air intake is also added to the front chin.
The updated Hector Plus SUV's rear has a new tail-lamp assembly with a red strip that connects the lamps at either end in a new design. With new angular creases, the rear bumper has also undergone a redesign. A simpler design with subtle new chrome inserts has replaced the outgoing model's dual-tone black and silver treatment. The SUV's exterior, however, has not changed at all; even the 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels are the same as those on the previous model.
MG Hector Plus Facelift: Powertrain
The 1.5-litre petrol engine that powers the Hector Plus SUV is still available, and it can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission. Maximum power and peak torque for this unit are 143 bhp and 250 Nm, respectively. Previously, a 48-volt mild hybrid system was also available with this engine. However, the facelifted SUV no longer offers that. Additionally, the petrol engine's 7-speed DCT gearbox is also no longer available.
The 2.0-litre, 170bhp, 350Nm diesel engine that powers the Harrier, the Safari, and the Compass remains. As before, MG continues to only offer a single six-speed manual gearbox for the Hector diesel.
MG Hector Plus Facelift: Interior Features
A larger 14.0-inch touchscreen has been integrated into the dashboard of the 2023 Hector Plus, making it the largest touchscreen ever installed in an Indian mass-market vehicle. More horizontal lines and redesigned D-shaped AC vents have been added to the dashboard, which has also undergone a complete redesign. The centre console on the Hector Plus has a faux-wood finish, giving the impression that it is flowing down from the infotainment screen. The Hector Plus also receives a black-beige finish.
Furthermore, there are many more buttons, a redesigned cupholder, and an electric parking button on the centre console. The inclusion of ADAS on the Hector Plus is a highlight that has generated the most discussion in terms of features. New features like lane-keep assist, blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, and lane-departure warning are added as a result. Along with updating the 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, MG also updated the iSmart infotainment system.

In other news, MG Motor is preparing to introduce a two-door electric vehicle in India. The brand has revealed the name of its upcoming 2-door electric vehicle: Comet. The Wuling Air EV, which is currently offered in markets like Indonesia, is essentially rebranded as this car. The Comet is anticipated to go on sale in India by mid-2023, with an estimated price tag of Rs 10 lakh. The MG Comet's powertrain is most likely to consist of a battery pack with a 20–25 kWh capacity and a single electric motor mounted on the front axle. The small electric vehicle is expected to have a single-charge range of up to 300 kilometre.
