Honor 200 Review: The Best Camera Phone to Buy Under Rs 40,000 in India!
The Honor 200 delivers exceptional value by nailing the fundamentals of what makes a phone great, as we find out in this review.
After spending a couple of weeks with the new Honor 200, I can confidently say that it deserves your attention. In the fiercely competitive smartphone market, brands often face a tough choice: create a phone that excels in one standout feature, making it easier to market, or develop a well-rounded device that becomes challenging to price competitively. The Honor 200 strikes a fine balance between these approaches, landing squarely in a third category—phones that are simply great.
The base model of the phone is priced at ₹34,999 and comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage; however, we tested the higher-spec variant, which costs ₹39,999 and offers 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. One of the standout features of this phone, besides its impressive camera setup, is its design. The pill-shaped camera module ensures that the Honor 200 doesn't just disappear into the crowd.
While there’s a lot to discuss about the Honor 200, I want to focus on a few key aspects that, in my opinion, make this phone a solid recommendation. Let’s start with the display. The Honor 200 features a 6.7-inch AMOLED quad-curved display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 435 PPI pixel density, and a peak brightness of 4,000 nits. The result is a viewing experience that makes it feel like it belongs in a higher segment. Complementing the display is a massive 5,200mAh silicon-carbon battery, ensuring that even with heavy usage, the phone easily lasts a full day. Despite this large battery, the phone weighs just 187g.
The Honor 200 also supports 100W fast charging, although it doesn’t come with a charger in the box. It features Type-C USB connectivity, gets dual-sim support, runs on MagicOS 8.0 based on Android 14, and includes a spare clear case for protection. In short, the Honor 200 leaves no stone unturned in delivering value.
But what truly elevates this phone is its fantastic camera setup. The front sports a 50MP selfie camera that exceeds expectations, while the rear houses a 12MP ultra-wide camera with autofocus, which also allows you to do macro photography, a 50MP main camera, and the star of the show – a 50MP telephoto camera with both OIS and EIS. This telephoto lens offers 2.5X optical zoom and 50X digital zoom and is equipped with the Sony IMX856 sensor. While the hardware is impressive on its own, what makes the camera exceptional is the AI-based processing that kicks in after you click a photo.

Although it takes a second or so to process, the resulting image is impressive, regardless of the shooting conditions. This is especially true for portrait photography, where the camera can outperform phones that cost twice as much. Video performance is solid too, although it tends to retain more contrast than I would prefer.

Overall, the Honor 200 manages to impress in all areas. From its all-day battery life and stunning curved display to its top-tier camera performance, the phone justifies its price tag. During our time with it, the Honor 200 never left us wanting more – a rare achievement for a phone in this segment. If you're in the market for a do-it-all smartphone, the Honor 200 is highly recommended.
