Maruti Suzuki Fronx Long Term Review, July 2024 Report

This report marks my 12th time documenting about my experiences with the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. This means that the Fronx is now a one-year-old member of the autoX long term test fleet! So, here, I would like to look back at how my experience has been so far.

It all began on that fine day when Maruti Suzuki lent us two of their latest offerings, fresh from a highly successful Auto Expo debut – the Maruti Suzuki Jimny and the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. While my colleague Shivank took charge of the Jimny, I decided to go for this charming Fronx. Even before it joined our fleet, I was captivated by it during its Auto Expo debut. As I have come to realise, I’m more of a Fronx person than a Jimny enthusiast.

The highlights of this journey include the Fronx’s exceptional ride quality and its striking design, making it stand out effortlessly. Dare I say, it’s the most attractive design under the ₹20 lakh price mark. The Fronx has been incredibly reliable, never giving me any trouble apart from a single flat tyre incident. If that’s the extent of issues I can list, you can gauge just how dependable it has been. And not to forget, if it were to give any trouble, the vast service and support network of Maruti Suzuki gives a peace of mind unlike any other.

Over time, I’ve noticed my colleagues warming up to the Fronx, appreciating its role as our go-to vehicle for tracking and support throughout the year.

On the flip side, the infotainment system has had its occasional bugs, and I’ve often wished for a more exciting dashboard design – one that would set it apart from other Maruti Suzuki models. While I’ve grown accustomed to it by now, seeing what competitors offer in terms of design does spark a bit of envy.

Would I trade the Fronx for any other car that has joined and left our autoX fleet this past year? Absolutely not! For me, it strikes the perfect balance of size, performance, refinement, practicality, efficiency, and comfort. It’s been so satisfying that my desire to own one myself grows stronger by the day...
