The CBR650R – a fully-faired middleweight sports bike from the Japanese manufacturer – replaces the CBR650F in the Indian market. In terms of design, the CBR650R draws its inspiration from the Fireblade and is easily the most aggressively styled bike in its segment. Overall, the bike sports a very aggressive design. The 15.4 litres fuel tank looks muscular and sporty, and the riding position is quite aggressive, thanks to the lower placed handlebar and forward placed footpegs.

Exterior Details

The CBR650R is an aggressive full faired middleweight sports bike that draws its inspiration from the CBR1000RR Fireblade. The aggressively styled motorcycle is 2,135mm in length, 749mm in width, and 1,149mm in height. The CBR650R has a kerb weight of 210kg and a ground clearance of 132mm. Engine & Transmission

The Honda CBR650R specifications feature a 648.72cc in-line four-cylinder mill that pushes out 85.9bhp and 60.1Nm of torque. The power delivery is linear from the four-cylinder engine and riding in traffic or on the highway is painless and quite enjoyable. The six-speed transmission is slick and shifts with ease. During our test ride, we did not encounter any case of false neutral.

Mileage

The Honda CBR650R has a claimed top speed of 194km/h. Ride it sanely, and it offers a claimed fuel efficiency of 18km/l.

Handling

The Honda CBR650R is a sweet handling machine, thanks to the agile diamond frame chassis. The ride quality is softer in comparison to the previous iteration (the CBR650F), owing to a 41mm upside down fork at the front and a pro-link type suspension at the rear. The tyre size is 120/70 ZR17 M/C for the front wheel and 180/55 ZR17 M/C for the back wheel. The stopping power comes from 310mm dual-disc brakes at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear.

Features

The Honda CBR650R new model features slipper clutch / effortless shifting assist and ABS as standard. The Fireblade inspired headlamp at the front and the neatly integrated taillamp at the rear are fully LED setups. It also features a fully digital LCD instrument cluster, which includes a speedometer, a tachometer, an odometer, a fuel gauge, a clock, a gear position indicator, and an average fuel economy meter. The Honda CBR650R colours are limited to two shades – grand prix red and matte gunpowder black metallic.
