Audi Q8 e-tron, Q8 e-tron Sportback India Launch on August 18, Here's What to Expect
The upcoming Audi Q8 e-tron will be equipped with a 114kWh battery pack and two electric motors, with a combined output of 402bhp and 664Nm of peak torque. Audi claims that the electric vehicle will have a range of up to 600km on a single charge.
A couple of days back, the German manufacturer Audi unveiled the new Q8 e-tron and the Q8 e-tron Sportback for the Indian market. And now in a recent development, the company has confirmed the launch of the much-awaited Q8 e-tron in India on August 18 this year. Available in both standard SUV and Sportback (SUV coupe) body styles, the Q8 e-tron is an updated version of the e-tron – the company's first electric SUV. The new Audi Q8 e-tron will be offered as a completely built-up unit (CBU) in India and will come with aesthetic and functional upgrades at launch. While its pricing will be revealed on the said date, expect the upcoming Q8 e-tron to carry a higher price tag than the current version, which starts at Rs 1.02 crores (ex-showroom). With the Mercedes-Benz EQC now discontinued, the Audi Q8 e-tron will lock horns with the Jaguar I-Pace in India (between Rs 1.19 crore and Rs 1.24 crore).

Audi Q8 e-tron: Battery, Range
The Audi Q8 e-tron will be equipped with a 114kWh battery pack and two electric motors - one on each axle. The end result is a combined output of 402bhp and 664Nm of peak torque. The SUV will have a claimed range of up to 582km, whereas the Sportback will have a range of up to 600km (WLTP cycle) from the 114kWh battery pack. According to the manufacturer, the Q8 e-tron can attain 100km/h from a standstill in 5.6 seconds.
A striking feature of the Q8 e-tron is that it will support up to 170kW DC fast charging, allowing the battery pack to charge from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in 31 minutes. Besides, it will also get a 22kW AC charger from the firm. The Q8 e-tron can be fully charged using the AC charger in six hours. The car will continue with charging ports on either side, just like the previous-generation model.

Inside, the Q8 e-tron will get motorised front seats with memory, heating, ventillation, and massage functions. Furthermore, the car will feature two touchscreens in the centre console – a 10.1-inch display for the infotainment system and an 8.6-inch display for most of the car's controls, including the HVAC.
Other bits include a panoramic sunroof, a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, Audi's Virtual Cockpit Plus, four-zone automatic control, air ioniser, leather upholstery, a 360-degree camera, park assist, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
Audi Q8 e-tron: Exterior
On the looks front, the Q8 e-tron will sport a new hexagonal grille with blacked-out elements and an updated monochromatic logo of Audi. There will be a new front bumper with wider air intake on either side, LED headlights, and 20-inch alloy wheels. The car will also have 'Audi' and 'Q8 e-tron Quattro' lettering on the blacked-out B-pillar. The rear end will flaunt a revised bumper and new Q8 badges on the tailgate.

Audi Q8 e-tron: Pricing, Competition
On the 18th of August 2023, the pricing of the new Audi Q8 e-tron will be made public. Upon launch, the upcoming luxury EV will be Audi's answer to the Jaguar I-Pace. Stay tuned!
