Toyota Fortuner Waiting Period Reaches up to 8 Weeks in India
In the Indian market, the Toyota Fortuner competes with the likes of the Jeep Meridian, the Skoda Kodiaq, and the MG Gloster. The ex-showroom price of the model ranges from Rs 33.43 lakh to Rs 51.44 lakh.
Toyota has revealed the current waiting periods for popular models such as the Urban Cruiser Hyryder SUV, the Innova Crysta, and the Rumion MPVs. Additionally, the automaker has also disclosed the waiting period for the Fortuner SUV, which currently commands a maximum waiting period of eight weeks across India. Interestingly, this waiting period is the same as the previous month. Notably, those who reserved the Fortuner in November last year had to wait 12 weeks from the date of booking to get their hands on the car.

Toyota Fortuner: Feature Set
In terms of features, the Fortuner comes with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, eight-way power-adjustable and ventilated front seats, connected car technology, rear air conditioning, a powered tailgate, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, LED headlamps with DRLs, hill ascent and descent control, satellite navigation, front clearance sonar, rear parking sensors, leather upholstery, telescopic steering adjustment, seven airbags, keyless entry and go, ABS with EBD, traction control, stability control, cruise control, paddle shifters, rearview camera, and dual-zone climate control.
Toyota Fortuner: Engine and Transmission
The Fortuner is available with two engine options – a 2.7-litre petrol and a 2.8-litre diesel. Speaking of power output, the diesel engine can produce up to 500Nm of maximum torque and 201bhp of peak power, whereas the petrol engine is capable of churning out 164bhp and 245Nm of peak torque. Furthermore, the diesel models get an optional 4x4 system.
Moving on to the transmission options, the petrol engine is coupled to either a five-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The diesel mill, on the other hand, is available with a six-speed torque converter automatic or a 6-speed manual gearbox. Only the diesel model is offered with the four-wheel-drive system, while only the petrol variant is offered with the 4X2 option. A lockable differential and an automatic limited-slip differential are also offered with the version.

The Fortuner gets a broader front grille, which uses less chrome, 18-inch alloy wheels, a muscular bumper, a new fog lamp housing, a faux skid plate on the chin, smaller headlights with an LED signature for the DRL, and LED tail lights. The price of the model ranges from Rs 33.43 lakh to Rs 51.44 lakh. Both mentioned prices are ex-showroom. In the Indian market, the SUV competes with the Jeep Meridian, Skoda Kodiaq, and MG Gloster.
