Toyota Innova Hycross Waiting Period Extends up to 13 Months in India
In India, the Toyota Innova Hycross recently achieved the 50,000-unit sales milestone. Let's check how long you have to wait if you want to purchase this MPV.
The Innova Hycross is a popular Toyota vehicle in India, with high demand. In February, the MPV has a year-long waiting period that applies to its hybrid VX and VX(O) models. To begin with, the SUV comes with a hybrid drivetrain in four different variants: ZX, VX(O), VX, and ZX(O). Industry reports state that the VX and VX(O) models command a waiting period of up to 12–13 months, marking an increase of 2 to 3 months from last year’s end. Notably, the Japanese carmaker ceased accepting orders for the top-tier hybrid cars at the beginning of this year, and reservations for the ZX and ZX(O) trims have not yet been reopened. The sticker price of the Innova Hycross Hybrid in our market ranges from Rs 25.72 lakh to Rs 30.68 lakh.
It is worth noting that the petrol-fueled Hycross, available in G and GX models, has a far shorter waiting time—roughly 5 to 6 months—than the hybrid. Since the end of the previous year, this waiting period remains unchanged.
Toyota Innova Hycross: Engine and Features
For the Toyota Innova Hycross, there are two engine options available: a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated gasoline engine with 170bhp and a CVT transmission, and a 2.0-litre gasoline engine coupled to a potent hybrid system with 181bhp and an e-Drive gearbox. The fuel efficiency numbers for the gasoline model are 16.13km/l, and 23.24km/l for the hybrid variant, according to the company.
One of the reasons the Innova Hycross is becoming more and more popular in India is the abundance of amenities it receives from Toyota. Features include dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, paddle shifters, ventilated front seats, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment display, a 7-inch digital driver's display, wireless phone charging, and linked car technology.
Toyota Innova Hycross: Some Significant Highlights
Following its introduction in November 2022, the Toyota Innova Hycross surpassed the 50,000-unit sales milestone in India. The automaker claims that the success of the vehicle is attributed to its outstanding service and warranty benefits, in addition to its features and performance.
At the first-ever Bharat Mobility Expo this month, Toyota demonstrated the prototype of its made-in-India Innova Hycross flex-fuel hybrid MPV. The Innova Hycross's flex-fuel version is driven by an electric motor and its 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol mill. According to the automaker, the Innova Hycross flex-fuel hybrid adheres to BS6 Phase II and can run on gasoline with an ethanol mix that goes above India's current 20% restriction.
