The waiting period for the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder SUV has now come down to two months in India, a relief for prospective buyers eager to get their hands on the popular hybrid vehicle. Initially, the waiting time had surged due to high demand. The Hyryder, with its fuel-efficient hybrid powertrain and advanced features, has been well-received in the mid-size SUV market. Available in both mild-hybrid and strong-hybrid variants, it appeals to eco-conscious consumers looking for a reliable, efficient vehicle. The reduction in waiting time is expected to boost sales further, improving Toyota's ability to cater to the growing demand for hybrid technology.

Toyota Hyryder SUV: Waiting Period
As of September 2024, the Hyryder's CNG variants come with a waiting period of up to 2 months (8 weeks). On the other hand, those choosing the mild-hybrid and strong-hybrid models will experience a shorter wait of about 1 month (4 weeks) after placing their order. In March this year, the SUV had a waiting duration of up to 10 months (39 weeks).
The Toyota model offers a wide selection of trims, featuring three engine choices, 4 variants, and 11 paint jobs. These include seven monotone and four dual-tone paint shades.
Toyota Hyryder SUV: Powertrain Options
When equipped with an eCVT gearbox, the Toyota SUV’s 1.5-litre TNGA Atkinson Cycle engine generates 92bhp and 122Nm of peak torque. The combined output of the engine and electric motor is 114bhp, with the motor alone contributing 79bhp and 141Nm of torque. According to Toyota, the powerful hybrid system delivers an impressive fuel efficiency of 27.97km/l, supported by a 117.6V lithium-ion battery. The Hyryder also offers a mild hybrid option, powered by the same 1.5-litre K15C engine found in the Ertiga and Brezza. The Neo Drive motor is paired with either a six-speed torque converter automatic or a five-speed manual gearbox, producing a maximum power output of 103bhp and 137Nm of peak torque. The 1.5-litre K-series engine in the CNG variant of the car delivers 87bhp and 121.5Nm of torque.

The Hyryder's dashboard mirrors that of the Baleno and Glanza. The strong hybrid variant features a black and brown interior, while the mild hybrid versions come with an all-black cabin. Key features include ventilated front seats, paddle shifters, ambient lighting, smartphone and smartwatch connectivity, and a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Additional highlights include a heads-up display, a panoramic sunroof, and wireless phone charging. In terms of safety, the SUV is equipped with vehicle stability control, ABS with EBD, a 360-degree camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and up to six airbags.
