Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Waiting Period Stands at 16 Months in India
The CNG variants of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder command a maximum waiting period of up to 16 months, while the hybrid variants have a lower waiting period of 6 to 7 months.
The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, which shares its underpinnings with the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, was launched in the Indian market last year at a starting price of Rs 10.48 lakh for the petrol and Rs 15.11 lakh for the hybrid version. Prices are ex-showroom. After a series of price revisions, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder currently retails between Rs 10.86 lakh and Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Ever since its launch in September 2022, the Hyryder has had a decent start, selling an average of around 3,200 units per month. According to market reports, the SUV commands a waiting period of up to 16 months in India. The Indian arm of the Japanese manufacturer offers the Hyryder in 4 variants – E, S, G, and V. That said, the hybrid variants have a 6- to 7-month waiting period, whereas the ICE (petrol) versions see a waiting period of 10 to 11 months from the day of booking. However, if you choose the CNG version, you will have to wait for about 16 months.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder: Powertrain, Performance
Underneath the skin, the midsize SUV gets three powertrain options. First – a 1.5-litre TNGA Atkinson Cycle engine, which comes mated to an eCVT and belts out 92bhp and 122Nm of torque. This engine in conjunction with the 79bhp electric motor makes a combined power output of 114bhp. Toyota says that this powerful strong hybrid system offers a fuel efficiency of 27.97km/l, and the battery powering the system is a 117.6V lithium-ion unit.
Second – a mild-hybrid setup, which consists of a 1.5-litre K15C engine that powers the Maruti Suzuki Brezza as well as a motor, called 'Neo Drive'. This motor is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Third – a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which is compatible with a manual gearbox. The last one can be had with the base-spec variants.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder: Features
Features-wise, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder offers a Black and Brown theme for the powerful hybrid model and a Black theme for the mild-hybrid variants. The car comes standard with a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventillated front seats, smartphone and smartwatch connectivity, ambient lighting, and paddle shifters. It also gets a heads-up display, wireless phone charging, and a panoramic sunroof. As far as safety goes, the SUV gets up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, a 360-degree camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), vehicle stability control, and more.

Interested customers can choose from a range of colour options, comprising seven monotones and four dual tones. Some of them are Cafe White with Midnight Black, Sportin Red with Midnight Black, Enticing Silver with Midnight Black, Speedy Blue with Midnight Black, and Gaming Grey with Midnight Black.

In the Indian market, the Hyryder SUV takes on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, and the Citroen C3 Aircross.
