Kawasaki recently announced updates for its outrageous Ninja H2 range in global markets, and now the new models have arrived on Indian shores. The 2019 Ninja H2 line-up has prices starting at Rs 34.50 lakh for the ‘standard’ H2, Rs 41 lakh for the H2 Carbon and a whopping Rs 72 lakh for the track-only monster that’s the H2R. All prices are ex-showroom.
While mid-cycle updates usually tend to be a simple nip-and-tuck job with few updates here and there, Kawasaki has done the exact opposite. They have gone completely bonkers that is! For starters, the supercharged 998cc inline-four cylinder engine has gained 31 horses in the updated model – meaning it now produces a stratospheric 228bhp! Kawasaki won’t reveal how that has been achieved, but it could be a simple remap job. And that’s because this same engine develops a staggering 306bhp in the unrestricted H2R, so it definitely has a lot of hidden potential.
Apart from the power figure bump, the updated Ninja H2 range features a new TFT colour instrumentation along with smartphone connectivity, uprated and lightweight Brembo Stylema monobloc calipers, new Bridgestone RS11 sport tyres and Kawasaki’s ‘Highly Durable’ paint that comes with a special coat with self-repairing function – it repairs minor scratches by itself. Additionally, all the lighting equipment on the H2 range is now LED.
All three H2 range bikes will be brought into the country as CBUs and will be available in limited numbers. Kawasaki says bookings can only be done between 1st September and 31st October 2018. Deliveries, however, will begin in 2019.
