2023 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V: Standard, Connected & Pro Variants Explained
The Standard variant has a price tag of Rs 1.27 lakh, while the Connected and Pro variants cost Rs 1.33 lakh and Rs 1.36 lakh, respectively. All prices are ex-showroom. The bookings are set to commence on June 15, followed by the deliveries in the second week of July.
After much speculation, the 2023 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V has finally made its entry into the Indian market. The new bike, which is an updated version of the popular sub-200cc roadster in the country, is available alongside the previous Xtreme 160R 2V but receives several improvements over its predecessor. The new model comes with a hardware upgrade, a powerful 4-valve engine for increased efficiency, and a few cosmetic changes. With these updates, the latest Xtreme 160R 4V carries a starting price of Rs 1.27 lakh and goes up to Rs 1.36 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the bike are currently underway, and deliveries are to begin in the second week of July.
The updated Xtreme 160R 4V receives an OBD-2 compliant 4-valve 163cc engine, which is a substantial upgrade over the old BS6 and 2-valve engine. The 4-valve engine cranks out 16.6bhp of maximum power at 8,500rpm and 14.6Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm (the previous generation model offered 15bhp and 14Nm). This improved engine offers more power and a pleasant riding experience, according to the company.

The 2023 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V comes in a total of three colour options – Blazing Sports Red, Neon Shooting Star, and Matte Slate Black. The Neon Shooting Star, however, is not available on the standard variant. Talking of the variants, Standard, Connected, and Pro are the three variants of the bike. Also, a 5-speed gearbox is common in all three variants.
2023 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V: Standard Variant
At Rs 1.27 lakh (ex-showroom), the Standard variant of the Xtreme 160R adopts a 37mm telescopic fork at the front and a 7-step adjustable mono-shock at the rear. Braking duties are carried out by petal discs at both ends, supported by a single-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS). The bike sits on 17-inch alloy wheels shod with tubeless tyres. Other notable features include all LED lighting, a revised LED headlight with a position lamp, LED winkers, an LED taillamp, a single-piece seat, and a digital instrument cluster. Coming to the colour options, customers can choose between Blazing Sports Red and Matte Slate Black.
2023 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V: Connected Variant
The Connected variant is equipped with the same features as the standard model, but it also includes Hero's 25 telematics functions and a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster. According to Hero MotoCorp, the motorbike has over 25 telematics functions. The telematics installed in the bike offers a range of connected features in the form of remote immobilisation, vehicle tracking, vehicle diagnostics, panic alerts, etc. There is only one paint shade available on the Connected variant – Matte Slate Black. On the company's website, this variant is listed at around Rs 1.33 lakh (ex-showroom).
2023 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V: Pro Variant
In comparison, the Pro variant gets a 37mm KYB upside-down fork rather than a conventional telescopic front fork, dual-tone colours, and a split-style seat setup. On the other hand, the split seat is an optional feature for both Standard and Connected variants. However, the Xtreme 160R Pro doesn’t get the telematics available with the connected variant. It is available in two colour options – Matte Slate Black and Neon Shooting Star. Meanwhile, all other features remain the same as the Standard and Connected trims.
At 145 kilograms, the Pro is relatively heavier than the other two variants, both of which weigh around 144 kilograms. Speaking of its pricing, the range-topping Pro variant carries a sticker price of around Rs 1.36 lakh (ex-showroom).

The 2023 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V sits above the Xtreme 160R 2V, which continues to be on sale. Along with the motorcycle, Hero MotoCorp is also selling a variety of accessories. In terms of market rivalry, the motorcycle competes with the likes of the Yamaha FZS-FI, Bajaj Pulsar NS 160, and TVS Apache 160 4V in the Indian market.
