The upcoming KTM 390 Duke has been spotted without any camouflage, building up to its India launch soon. It is a production-spec model with a new paint job, design, and equipment. While the all-new 390 Duke has already been spied on, both here and overseas, we have a fair idea about the overall design and features of the motorcycle. Now though, these latest images give us a good look at some fresh details.
For starters, the recently spotted KTM 390 Duke sports a fresh coat of paint in shades of Blue, Grey, and Orange. 2023 KTM 390 Duke: Design
With its angular body panels, revamped split seats, and a sharp and sleek headlight with DRLs, the 2023 KTM 390 Duke seems sportier than the previous model. The fuel tank extensions receive cut-outs for improved aerodynamics. Furthermore, it gets newly designed wheels that may have been taken from the new KTM RC 390. Other notable design elements could include a reworked trellis frame, a lightweight bolt-on subframe, a new gullwing swingarm, a repositioned coolant reservoir, and an O2-sensor on the exhaust header pipe, as already mentioned in our previous stories.
2023 KTM 390 Duke: Features
On the feature front, the new 390 Duke comes with all-LED lighting, a TFT colour display with Bluetooth connectivity, and a bi-directional quick-shifter, all of which are available with the outgoing model. In addition, the bike also boasts a sharp and sleek headlight with DRLs and a new T-shaped LED taillight.
KTM will also offer an upgraded electronic package with the bike. This could include a traction control system, cornering ABS, switchable ABS, a ride-by-wire, and riding modes.
2023 KTM 390 Duke: Powertrain, Hardware
Coming to the powertrain, the upcoming 390 Duke is likely to draw power from the same single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that the current version gets. But, the new version will probably offer an increased displacement of 399cc, thanks to a new engine casing design and a reworked exhaust route. While we don't have official power and torque figures, we expect the new engine to pump out more power than the current engine. For reference, the existing bike delivers 43bhp of maximum power at 9,000rpm and 37Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm.
