Hero MotoCorp has announced the arrival of the 2024 Xtreme 160R 4V on social media, with several upgrades, including the segment-first Panic Brake Alert System. While the official launch date is yet to be revealed, the new edition is expected to be on sale soon at a higher price than the current model, which starts at Rs 1.27 lakh. The 2024 edition of the Xtreme 160R 4V will be available in bronze and black colour, with updated graphics. Unlike the current model with a single-channel ABS unit, it will include a dual-channel ABS.

Additionally, the Hero two-wheeler will get a new seat (single-piece) for improved pillion comfort. The current version features a split seat configuration. Hero will also upgrade the bike's features with a drag race timer and a panic brake alarm. The timer will let you record sprints from 0 to 60km/h and 0 to 402-metre sprints.
No Mechanical or Hardware Changes
Considering it'll be a model-year upgrade, Hero is unlikely to change the bike's heart, which means you'll get the same 163.2cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine. This unit produces a maximum power output of 16.6bhp and a peak torque of 14.6Nm with a five-speed gearbox. While there has been no formal announcement, the bike's hardware is expected to remain unaltered, with USD forks, a preload-adjustable monoshock, and a single disc at both ends.
Other Developments
In June 2024, Hero Motocorp was the best-selling two-wheeler brand in the domestic market. It sold 4.91 lakh units, representing a 16.24% growth over the 4.22 lakh units supplied during the same month in 2023. In contrast to the 4.78 lakh units delivered in May 2024, the manufacturer's sales rose by 2.50% month-on-month. The company was followed by brands like Honda, TVS, and Bajaj on the list of top-selling automakers from the previous month.
