2024 KTM 250 Duke: What's New Visually?
Coming to the new KTM 250 Duke's design, the motorcycle gets a bolder split-type LED headlamp setup, a muscular fuel tank with sharper extensions, a split-style seat layout, a painted headlight surround, and the same alloy wheels as the 2024 KTM 390 Duke. It has undergone some changes to the bodywork, similar to the 1290 Super Duke. Plus, there are two colour schemes on offer – Ceramic White and Electronic Orange.
2024 KTM 250 Duke: Features
On the feature front, the 2024 iteration of the 250 Duke comes with an all-new 5.0-inch LCD screen, which is paired with a new switch cube with 4-way menu switches. This allows easy interaction with features like Bluetooth connectivity, music control, incoming call alerts, call and audio control, and turn-by-turn navigation. Other features include a ride-by-wire throttle system, a quick shifter, and a slipper clutch.
2024 KTM 250 Duke: Riding Ergonomics
The new bike has a seat height of 800mm, which can be increased by 20mm with the KTM PowerParts set. The 250 Duke also has a longer wheelbase and a new frame geometry – a trellis steel frame complemented by an aluminium sub-frame. Thanks to all these, the bike is claimed to have improved cornering stability and handling abilities.
2024 KTM 250 Duke: Engine and Hardware
Powering the 250 Duke is a redesigned 249cc engine. Called the LC4c, this all-new single-cylinder unit is said to offer smoother acceleration and more power as compared to the previous-generation engine. Although the manufacturer has not revealed the power and torque output, we expect it to have improved power and torque figures. For reference, the previous version made 31bhp and 25Nm of peak torque. The transmission duties of the bike are taken care of by a 6-speed gearbox.
For suspension, the bike uses a 43mm WP Apex front fork and a preload-adjustable rear mono-shock, both with 150mm of travel. Braking duties are performed by a 320mm front disc with a 4-piston radial fixed calliper and a 240mm rear disc with a 2-piston floating calliper. The bike comes with a new set of lightweight 17-inch alloy wheels, shod with MERF steel radial tyres, and a curved swingarm.
