2024 Yamaha R15 V4 Launched in Japan, Gets New Colour Options
Yamaha Motor recently launched the 2024 R15 V4 in Japan, complementing the smaller R125, which is also available for purchase globally. The R15 V4 gets new colour options as part of the latest update. The mechanicals and components, however, remain the same.
For the 2024 model year, Yamaha Motor has launched the all-new R15 V4 in Japan. The 2024 R15 V4 follows the 2024 R125, which was also recently rolled out by the premium bike manufacturer in its domestic market. While keeping the same mechanical specifications, both motorcycles gain new colour options. The fresh Black Metallic 12 paint job for the 2024 R15 V4 appears to be inspired by the bigger R7 bike. The new blacked-out components work well with the available colour option. The retail cost of the new iteration of the R15 V4 in Japan stands at 550,000 Yen (about Rs 3.07 lakh), making it nearly twice as pricey as the comparable model in India. For reference, prices for the India-spec R15 V4 start at Rs 1.81 lakh (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the Indian market does not offer the R125 for purchase.

2024 Yamaha R15 V4: New Colour Options
The motorcycle is now available in an All-Black colour, which is comparable to that of its larger sibling, the R7, and has been showcased in our country on multiple occasions. Additionally, it has parts that are blacked out. Next is what the manufacturer refers to as Dark Bluish Gray Metallic. As the label implies, the bike's primary colour is Dark Blue, which is contrasted by the Neon Yellow on the wheels and the graphics all over its bodywork. Near the fairing, this colour scheme also has some silver accents. Last but not least, there is the classic Yamaha Blue and Black combo, which is also present on the R1. The Racing Blue colour choice, which combines two different Blue tones, is just slightly different from what is offered on the Indian-spec model.
2024 Yamaha R15 V4: Engine Specifications
The 2024 Yamaha R15 V4 has the same hardware and mechanical components as the current model. The popular 155cc single-cylinder, SOHC, liquid-cooled, four-valve engine with VVA system continues to power the bike. The motor is configured to deliver a maximum torque output of 14.1Nm and 18.1bhp of peak power when mated to a six-speed transmission. The bike is further equipped with an assist and slipper clutch and a bi-directional quick-shifter. Along with dual-channel ABS, the R15 V4 also has riding modes and traction control. In the 150cc segment, the majority of these features are unusual.

Yamaha R3 & MT-03 Showcased in India Ahead of December Launch
At the recently concluded MotoGP Bharat, Yamaha made the most of the spotlight as it unveiled its much-anticipated models, the new R3 and the MT-03. The R3 will be a significant addition to the Japanese manufacturer's existing range of products in India given the steady advances that the entry-level premium motorcycle market has undergone in recent years. The R3 and the MT-03 are both anticipated to make their India debuts in December this year.
Both of the upcoming bikes are powered by a 321cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that produces 29.5Nm of peak torque at 9,000rpm and a maximum power output of 41bhp at 10,750rpm. Furthermore, the soon-to-be-released versions come connected to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch.
The R3 mimics Yamaha's larger supersports, like the R7 and the R1, with a fully-faired body, a low-set clip-on, and footpegs that are positioned at the back. The MT-03, on the other hand, borrows design influences from the MT-07 and the MT-09, including a twin-LED headlamp configuration concealed beneath a sizable apron. The bike also sports a traditional muscular profile and a hefty stance. Moreover, the MT-03 adopts a sporty riding posture, much like its supersport sibling, although compared to the R3, the riding ergonomics are slightly more comfortable.
