Ather Rizta Electric Scooter First Unit Rolls off the Production Line
The Ather Rizta went on sale in India in April this year, with prices starting at Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). It competes with the Ola S1 Air, the Hero Vida V1 Pro, the Ampere Nexus, and the TVS iQube in the segment.
Ather has rolled out the first unit of the Rizta electric scooter from its facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. Bookings for the EV are open for Rs 999, while deliveries are set to begin in July. Ather provides the Rizta in two variants: S (2.9kWh battery) and Z (2.9kWh/3.7kWh). The former costs Rs 1.10 lakh, while the latter is priced at Rs 1.25 lakh and Rs 1.45 lakh, depending on the version. In terms of looks, the new Rizta differs from the Sportier 450 series. It is a spacious, family-oriented scooter, featuring a bulkier and boxier design, particularly evident in the front apron and tail section. The EV gets an LED headlamp and sleek taillight bar, which adds to the striking look. Other external bits include a shiny front panel and multiple colour options.

Ather Rizta: Other Highlights
The new Ritza excels in terms of room and usability with its large seat (900mm)—the longest for an Indian scooter, according to Ather. It has significantly more storage capacity than the current Ather 450 series, with a 34-litre underseat compartment. The ample storage space under the seat can be used to accommodate groceries, umbrellas, and business bags. For those who require even more storage, Ather offers an additional, attachable, flexible frunk that adds 22 litres to the apron.
The new Rizta is available with multiple battery sizes. The Z variant has a 125-kilometre range, whereas the standard S version offers a 105-kilometre range. Each battery comes with a five-year warranty.
The new EV features an upgraded 450 series chassis with a larger, wider, and lower subframe. Its hardware setup includes a telescopic fork, a rear monoshock, a 200mm front, and a 130mm rear drum. The scooter has 12-inch alloy wheels, with 90-section front and 100-section rear MRF Zapper-N tyres. It boasts a kerb weight of 119kg, a seat height of 780mm, and 165mm of ground clearance.
