EICMA 2023: Hero Xoom 125R Scooter Revealed with 14-inch Wheels

Scooters appear to be the primary attraction of Hero MotoCorp's EICMA 2023 exhibit, which includes the brand-new Xoom 125R sporty scooter. The model was unveiled along with two other offerings – the all-electric Vida V1 Pro, as well as the 160cc Xoom 160 ADV. Both these vehicles are expected to arrive on global markets shortly. The 125R is a crucial addition to the Xoom line-up, which made its debut with the eye-catching but underpowered Xoom 110. Notably, the newly unveiled 125R scooter is expected to bring the performance, features, and high-end experience that Indian consumers expect from 125cc scooters. Hero Xoom 125R: Styling Cues
The Xoom 125R looks similar to its smaller sibling and yet has its own identity, thanks to its distinctive appearance and styling, which is inspired by a ‘falcon in flight’. Instead of the 110's signature X-shaped light, the 125R features a split taillight and a new angular LED headlight. The scooter features a similar multi-tone colour scheme – the scooter exhibited at EICMA sports a glossy metallic red finish and features larger machine-finished 14-inch alloy wheels with thin spokes.
Hero Xoom 125R: Mechanical Details
Although the Xoom 125R's exact specs have not been revealed yet, Hero has said that it’s a new 125cc engine mated to a CVT automatic, capable of offering more power over the smaller Xoom's 8bhp and 8.7Nm of peak torque. The company also states the bike will offer ‘fast acceleration, complemented by class-leading vehicle dynamics.’
Hero Xoom 125R: Hardware and Feature Set
The Xoom 125R features a standard telescopic fork, a disc brake at the front, and a drum brake at the back. On the feature front, it boasts a range of amenities to ensure a comfortable ride for the owner. These aids include a fully digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, first-in-segment sequential LED indicators, and full LED illumination.

Hero Xoom 125R: Expected Launch and Price
Hero MotoCorp hasn’t disclosed other information about the new Xoom 125R, including its launch schedule. The scooter has been designed in the company's several R&D facilities in Germany and India. Arriving next year sometime, the model will be part of the brand's new premium product line and is likely to be offered through the network of Hero Premia dealerships.
As far as its pricing is concerned, the latest Xoom is expected to cost around Rs 85,000 to Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom).
Hero Xoom 125R: Rivals
Once launched, the new Xoom 125R will go up against other popular 125cc sporty models, including the Aprilia SR125, Suzuki Avenis 125, and TVS Ntorq 125.
