Hero Mavrick 440 Deliveries to Commence on April 15 in India, Range Starts at Rs 1.99 Lakh
The Mavrick 440 is Hero MotoCorp's first middleweight motorcycle for India, and comes in three variants: Base, Mid, and Top.
Following its launch earlier last week in India, Hero MotoCorp is set to commence deliveries of the Mavrick 440 on April 15. It is the company's first middleweight bike for the country, and is built on the same platform as the Harley-Davidson X 440. The bookings for the bike are already underway, with the amount set at Rs 5,000. The Hero Mavrick 440 is available in three variants: Base, Mid, and Top, priced at Rs 1.99 lakh, Rs 2.14 lakh, and Rs 2.24 lakh, respectively. The prices are ex-showroom.
The entry-level variant with spoked wheels comes in Arctic White colour, while the mid variant with alloy wheels can be had in two dual-tone colour schemes – Fearless Red and Celestial Blue. Finally, the Top variant, which gets diamond-cut alloys with a machined finish and a Bluetooth-enabled digital console, comes in Phantom Black and Enigma Black colour options.
Hero Mavrick 440: Design, Ergonomics
Although Hero's new bike is based on the Harley-Davidson X 440, it gets a different design. The roadster features a robust fuel tank with integrated tank extensions, a round LED headlamp with an H-shaped daytime running light, small-sized indicators, a single-piece saddle, and a slim rear end. In terms of riding ergonomics, the Hero Mavrick 440 features an upright riding stance, courtesy of an 803mm seat, neutral-set footpegs, optimised grab rails, and wide handlebars.
Hero Mavrick 440: Features
The Mavrick 440 offers an LCD screen with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and call and message alerts, depending on the variant selected. The left side is circular and displays information regarding speed, revolutions per minute, gear position, and indicator lights, while the right side is rectangular and shows data about navigation and notifications. Other bits are full LED lighting, dual-channel ABS, and a USB-C charging port.
Hero Mavrick 440: Hardware
The bike features a trellis frame, suspended by a 43mm telescopic fork at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Meanwhile, a 320mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc perform the braking duties. Unlike the X 440's 100/90-18 and 140/70-17 setup, the Mavrick comes with 17-inch wheels (spoked or alloy) wrapped in 110/70 front and 150/60 rear tyres.
Hero Mavrick 440: Engine, Output
Powering the Mavrick 440 is a 440cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine that gets a six-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. While both the Hero Mavrick 440 and the Harley-Davidson X 440 use the same powertrain and are equally powerful (27bhp at 6,000rpm), the former produces 36Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm, which is 2Nm lower than that of the latter (38Nm at 4,000rpm).
