Honda Dio 125 Launched in India at Rs 83,400; Prices, Variants, Features, and More Explained
With the launch of the new Dio 125 scooter, Honda has expanded its product portfolio in India. The Dio 125 brings with it bold design elements as well as some smart features. Let's find out what are they:
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has launched the all-new Dio 125 scooter in the Indian market, which is a close rival to the TVS Ntorq 125. The Honda Dio 125 is on sale at Rs 83,400 for the Standard variant and Rs 91,300 for the Smart variant. Both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. The new scooter sports bold design elements and features H-Smart keyless functionality. It is the brand's third 125cc scooter available for purchase, after the Grazia and the best-seller Activa 125. Both variants of the new product are offered with a special 10-year warranty package (3-year standard and 7-year optional extended warranty). Bookings for the 125cc Honda Dio have already begun, and their deliveries are expected to commence soon across the country.
The company is offering a wide range of colour options on the Dio 125 – Sports Red, Pearl Siren Blue Metallic, Pearl Deep Ground Grey, Pearl Night Star Black, Matte Marvel Blue Metallic, Matte Axis Grey Metallic, and Matte Sangria Red Metallic.

Honda Dio 125: Engine and Transmission
The Dio 125 is powered by an OBD2-compliant 123.92cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine with eSP (Enhanced Smart Power) technology. Besides, a Honda ACG starter, increased tumble flow, improved combustion & reduced friction, and solenoid valves enhance the engine’s performance. As a result, the power and torque figures are rated at 8.16bhp at 6,250rpm and 10.4Nm at 5,000rpm, respectively. For handling transmission, the engine comes mated to a CVT unit, which sends all the power to the rear wheel.
Honda Dio 125: Design Details
Design-wise, the 125cc vehicle looks identical to the 110cc Honda Dio. Designed to appeal to young buyers, it comes with bold design elements, which include an apron-mounted headlamp, front turn indicators, a split-style pillion grabrail, a dual outlet exhaust with a heat shield, and sharp body panels. In addition to a unique 'Dio 125' logo, the new scooter also bears modern graphics on the front fender, apron, and side panels.
Honda Dio 125: Features
On the feature front, both variants of the Honda Dio 125 come with an LED headlamp, idle start-stop system, side-stand indicator with engine inhibitor, a pass switch, integrated headlight beam, and Honda's Combi-braking system (CBS). Furthermore, the scooter gets H-Smart technology with features such as Smart Find, Smart Unlock, Smart Safe, and Smart Start. However, the H-Smart technology is offered only with the Smart variant.
Other features include 18-litre under-seat storage and a new digital instrument console, which shows speed, real-time fuel efficiency, range, customary warning lights, trip meter, and clock.
Honda Dio 125: Hardware
The Honda Dio 125 is based on an underbone chassis frame. For suspension, the scooter gets telescopic forks at the front and a three-step preload-adjustable spring at the back. The braking hardware on the regular model includes drum brakes, while the Smart variant employs a petal-type disc brake at the front. Weighing 104kgs (kerb), the scooter rides on 12-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheels. Moreover, it also gets a 5.3-litre fuel tank and offers 171mm of ground clearance.

Honda Dio 125: Variants, Prices
The new Dio 125 comes in two variants – Standard and Smart. The former is priced at Rs 83,400, while the latter is available at a sticker price of Rs 91,300 (ex-showroom). In terms of market rivalry, the scooter competes with the likes of the TVS Ntorq 125, Suzuki Avenis, Yamaha RayZR 125 Fi-Hybrid, and Hero Maestro Edge 125.
