Two years after the introduction of the Activa 5G, Honda looks set to bring in its successor - the Activa 6G, on 15th January, 2020. We recently received a launch invite from Honda, which reads, “The game begins on 15th January 2020! After all, what’s 2020 without a 6?” The text hints that the new product will possibly be the Activa 6G.
The Activa 5G is currently powered by a 109.1cc carbureted motor that puts out 8bhp & 9Nm. The Activa 6G will surely be fuel injected instead of carbureted, to ensure that it falls in line with the new BS-VI emission norms. It remains to be seen the power and torque figures that the Activa 6G will produce. The Activa 125 BS-VI launched in September 2019, suffered a marginal dip in power figures.
As has become the norm, Honda is sure to offer more features to the Activa 6G like a more informative instrument cluster (possibly a fully digital unit), silent start/stop and some noticeable cosmetic updates.
The Honda Activa 5G is currently priced at Rs 55,934 for the standard version and Rs 57,799 for the DLX trim. Expect the 6G to be priced around Rs 5-8000 more than the current. Deliveries of the Activa 6G are likely to commence soon after the launch on 15th Jan.
