KTM 1290 Super Adventure S Launched at Rs 22.74 Lakh in India

KTM has launched its premium adventure motorcycle, the 1290 Super Adventure S, in India at Rs 22.74 lakh (ex-showroom). Known for its powerful 1,301cc V-twin engine, the Super Adventure S offers strong performance and advanced features aimed at experienced riders. Designed for both city roads and off-road terrain, the bike includes adaptive cruise control, traction control, and semi-active suspension for enhanced handling and safety. With this model, KTM is targeting India’s growing market for high-end adventure motorcycles, presenting the Super Adventure S as a strong option for those looking for a capable and tech-equipped ride.

Apart from the 1290 Super Adventure S, the Austrian bikemaker further expanded its lineup in India with the launch of the 890 Duke, 890 Adventure R, and 1390 Super Duke R. These models are brought into the country as fully assembled units, or Completely Built Units (CBUs).
KTM 1290 Super Adventure S: Engine Specs and Hardware
Mechanically, the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S is propelled by a 1301cc liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine producing 158bhp of maximum power and 138Nm of peak torque, paired with a six-speed transmission. It includes a bi-directional quickshifter and a slipper clutch.
Suspension duties are managed by WP semi-active USD forks in the front and a semi-active monoshock at the rear. The braking system consists of dual 320mm discs in the front and a 267mm disc at the rear, all mounted on cast aluminum wheels with Mitas Terra Force R tyres.
KTM 1290 Super Adventure S: Rider Aids
The KTM 1290 Super Adventure S is packed with high-end features, including keyless ignition, radar-assisted cruise control, and full LED lighting. Its six-axis IMU system oversees functions like traction control, slip regulation, engine braking, and off-road ABS. The bike offers four standard ride modes: Rain, Street, Sport, Off-road, and Rally (optional). These features are controlled via a seven-inch TFT display, which also supports Bluetooth connectivity, enabling turn-by-turn navigation, media controls, and call/SMS alerts.

Moving on to the design, the styling is highlighted by a bold, angular headlight. Although the half-fairing is relatively smooth and simple, KTM’s shaping around the large fuel tank adds to the bike’s imposing, tall stance.

The newly launched bike is all set to compete with a range of popular models such as the Triumph Tiger 1200 series, BMW R 1300 GS, and Ducati Multistrada V4.
