New KTM 390 Adventure Spotted Testing in India, to Get 19-inch Front Wheel and New Headlamp Setup
The next-generation KTM 390 Adventure will have a revised styling as well as a brand-new chassis with the latest 390 Duke's engine.
Nearly a month after being spotted overseas, the next-generation KTM 390 Adventure has been spied testing on our roads. As reported earlier, the Austrian bikemaker is readying the new 390 Adventure, which will have a revised styling and an all-new chassis with the latest 390 Duke's engine. The fresh spy shots reveal some new details, so let's have a proper look.
The test mule features 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wired-spoke wheels, wrapped in the same block-pattern tyres as the current version. However, the bike spotted in Europe had 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels. Apart from this, the new spy shots reveal vertically stacked projector headlamps with boomerang-shaped LED DRLs, a transparent visor, a long front beak rather than a standard fender, side fairings, brawny knuckle guards, a seemingly large fuel tank, sporty tank shrouds, and a single-piece saddle with grab rails.

New KTM 390 Adventure: Engine
Powering the next-generation KTM 390 Adventure will be a 399cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which also does duty in the KTM 390 Duke. The engine in the 390 Duke makes 45bhp and 39Nm of peak torque. However, expect the new 390 Adventure to be offered in a slightly different state of tune. Transmission duties will be carried out by a 6-speed unit, supported by a bi-directional quick-shifter.
New KTM 390 Adventure: Suspension, Brakes
The new 390 Adventure will sit on a new chassis, suspended by upside-down forks (with increased travel) at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. We anticipate the bike to feature adjustability at both ends. The braking hardware, meanwhile, seems to have changed, with the front brake calliper being an axially mounted unit rather than a radially mounted one.
New KTM 390 Adventure: Features
In terms of features, the upcoming KTM 390 Adventure is expected to offer a TFT console with smartphone connectivity, traction control, ABS modes, riding modes, and LED lighting. Moreover, turn-by-turn navigation is also likely.
With all these upgrades, expect the new 390 Adventure to command a premium over the current version, which currently ranges from Rs 3.39 lakh for the alloy version to Rs 3.61 lakh for the spoked version. Both prices are ex-showroom.
