Ola has relaunched the S1 in India at an introductory price of Rs 99,999. The scooter comes with a few changes, sharing a lot of its resemblance with the S1 Pro in India. Here's all you need to know
Ola has launched the S1 electric scooter in India with prices starting at Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom). In its new version, the S1 looks completely similar to the S1 Pro. It shares its cycle parts with the latter with a few changes and deletion to price it around a lakh.
Powering the S1 is the same 8.5kW motor seen on the Pro variant. However, the top speed in this one has been restricted to 95km/h. The range is also lesser at 128km in eco mode. The normal model returns 101km while the sport gets a range of 90km. As one can expect, the S1 misses out on the Hyper mode that is available on the S1 Pro.
There are a few misses in the feature department as well. The S1 misses out on cruise control but gets vital features like Bluetooth and navigation. Like the older models, this one will continue to get OTA updates as well. The transition to OS3 is set to happen by October.
Bookings for the new S1 are already live with deliveries expected to commence next month. The S1 is aimed at reeling in more sales and market share for the company. It will take on the newly-launched Ather 450X and Bajaj Chetak among others.
