Royal Enfield Bear 650 Debuts with Showa USD Forks, TFT Screen and More Features
The Bear 650 is Royal Enfield's fifth model with a 648cc parallel-twin air/oil-cooled engine. It is expected to cost around 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
Royal Enfield has finally unveiled the Bear 650 before its launch on November 5, 2024. The bike sports a Scrambler-style look and is based on the Interceptor 650. It is Royal Enfield's fifth model with a 648cc parallel-twin, air/oil-cooled engine. The bike is offered in five different colour options. It has several features and cosmetic changes that set it apart from the model on which it is based. While the prices are yet to be announced, market reports indicate that the upcoming Bear 650 will cost around Rs 3.40 to Rs 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Royal Enfield Bear 650: Design
The Bear 650 differentiates itself with a scrambler-style seat (pushed upward a bit at the back) and a number board on the side panels. It comes with new wheel sizes, MRF Nylorex off-road tyres, and all-LED illumination as standard. The fuel tank is identical to the Interceptor 650's, but it is adorned in unique and captivating hues. Other highlights include raised ground clearance (184mm), shorter fenders, and LED indicators. The bike also gets the new circular TFT display from the Guerrilla and Himalayan.

Royal Enfield Bear 650: Engine
The Royal Enfield Bear 650's engine is identical to that of the other 650cc models. However, there is a significant upgrade: a two-into-one system with a single exhaust system on the right side in place of two exhaust pipes. As a result, the torque has increased from 52Nm to 56.5Nm, while maintaining the same 5150rpm. However, the power output remains unchanged at 47bhp at 7,250rpm.

Royal Enfield Bear 650: Hardware
The chassis of the Bear 650 is similar to that of the Interceptor, but the suspension and wheel sizes are different. The former rolls on 19-inch (front) and 17-inch (rear) spoke wheels. The Interceptor-based scrambler has a Showa-sourced 43mm inverted fork at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Additionally, the suspension travel stands at 130mm (front) and 115mm (rear), respectively. The rear disc measures 270mm instead of the previous 240mm, however, the front disc is still 320mm like the Interceptor. The bike comes with a dual-channel ABS, which can be turned off from the back. Other highlights include a 1,460mm wheelbase and 216kg kerb weight, and 830mm seat height.
