Royal Enfield Bear 650: Engine, Chassis, Wheels
The Royal Enfield Bear 650 uses the same 650cc parallel-twin engine as the Interceptor 650. However, the former gets a two-into-one exhaust system, which features blacked-out heat shields and offers 4.5Nm more torque. The engine paired with a 6-speed transmission is rated for 47bhp at 7,250rpm – same as before – and 56.5Nm of peak torque at 5,150rpm.
The steel chassis has been carried over from the Interceptor 650, but it has been revised to suit the characteristics of the bike. The suspension setup of the Bear 650 consists of upside-down front forks and twin rear shocks, both Showa units. Thanks to this setup, the bike offers 130mm wheel travel at the front and 115mm at the rear, up from 110mm and 88mm, respectively.
The Bear 650 employs a 320mm front disc and a 270mm rear disc to handle braking duties, assisted by switchable dual-channel ABS. It sports 19/17-inch spoked wheels wrapped in a 100-section front and a 140-section rear MRF Nylorex off-road tyre.
Royal Enfield Bear 650: Features
Features-wise, the Bear 650 offers a circular TFT instrument console, all-LED lighting (standard), and a USB charging port. The console comes with Bluetooth connectivity and Google Maps support. With tall suspension units, the Bear 650 sits 830mm above the ground. The kerb weight is 216kg, 2kg less than the Interceptor 650. It features a 1,460mm-long wheelbase and 184mm ground clearance. It can hold up to 13.7 litres of fuel, the same as the Interceptor.
