Royal Enfield Himalayan Gets Tubeless Spoke Wheels in India, Here’s How to Get Them
The Royal Enfield Himalayan with tubeless wire-spoked wheels (booked through MiY) starts at Rs 2.96 lakh (ex-showroom).
Royal Enfield has introduced tubeless spoke wheels for the new Himalayan, almost a year after its launch. The wheels are optional accessories and cost Rs 11,000 per pair. However, it is important to keep in mind that the aforementioned cost applies only when the customer customises the new bike through the MIY configurator. The existing owners can access the wheels through dealerships for Rs 12,424, starting October 3, 2024. The Royal Enfield Himalayan is currently priced at 2.85 lakh ex-showroom. However, with tubeless wire-spoked wheels (booked through MiY), the bike starts at Rs 2.96 lakh. Except for the new wheels, the Royal Enfield Himalayan remains the same in terms of engine and other specifications.
Royal Enfield Himalayan: Engine
The new Himalayan draws power from the company's new, 452cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled unit that belts out 40bhp at 8,000rpm and 40Nm at 5,500rpm and comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox and slip-and-assist clutch. The bike gets ride-by-wire tech and gets two riding modes – Eco and Performance.
Royal Enfield Himalayan: Hardware
The bike has an all-new twin-spar tubular frame, supported by a preload-adjustable offset monoshock at the back and a 43mm upside-down fork at the front. Both offer 200mm of wheel travel. The braking setup is made up of 320mm front and 270mm rear discs. Other notable bits include 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, and dual-channel ABS (comes standard with the bike and can be deactivated at the rear).
