Suzuki Motorcycle India Crosses 70 Lakh Sales Mark
The Suzuki V-Strom SX uses a 249cc, 4-valve, single-cylinder engine that churns out 26bhp of power at 9,300rpm and 22Nm of peak torque at 7,300rpm, linked to a 6-speed gearbox. It locks horns with the likes of the Royal Enfield Himalayan, the Yezdi Adventure, and the KTM 250 Adventure.
Suzuki Motorcycle India has surpassed the 70 lakh sales milestone in India, after being in the business for the past 17 years. This is significant as the company has achieved a new milestone by rolling out its 7 millionth unit recently. The Suzuki's V-Strom SX became the 7 millionth unit to roll out of the production line at the Kherki Dhaula plant in Gurugram, Haryana. Suzuki started its operations in February 2006, and in just 17 years, the manufacturer has developed and sold 70 lakh units. The company's Indian lineup comprises the V-Strom SX, the Gixxer SF 250, the Gixxer 250, the Gixxer SF, the Gixxer, the Access 125, the Avenis, the Burgman Street and the Burgman Street EX. Alongside, the company's premium bikes include the Suzuki Hayabusa, the V-Strom 650XT, and the Katana.
Sharing his thoughts on the occasion, Mr. Kenichi Umeda, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd., said, "We are delighted to accomplish the 7 millionth production landmark. The company began its operations in February 2006 and has been delivering superior-value products since its inception. This is a testimony of our commitment to India and we wish to achieve many such milestones in the future".

Suzuki Motorcycle India March 2023 Sales
In March 2023, Suzuki Motorcycle India registered a 49 per cent increase in sales as against the same month in 2022. It sold 73,069 units in the country and exported 24,515 units. Further, overall sales for the financial year 2022–23 increased by 24.3% to 9,38,371 units from 754,938 units sold in the financial year that ended on March 31, 2022.
Suzuki V-Strom SX
For those unaware, the company had forayed into the 250cc adventure sports market with the Suzuki V-Strom SX, which was launched last year at Rs 2.11 lakh (ex-showroom). It is based on the Suzuki Gixxer 250 and draws design inspiration from the company's V-Strom models. It gets a tall windscreen, a two-step seat, knuckle protectors on the handlebar, and a luggage carrier.

The V-Strom SX uses a 249cc, 4-valve, single-cylinder engine that churns out 26bhp of power at 9,300rpm and 22Nm of peak torque at 7,300rpm, linked to a 6-speed gearbox. It has 205mm of ground clearance and a seat height of 835mm. It sits on a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel.
In the Indian market, the adventure bike takes on the likes of the Royal Enfield Himalayan, the Yezdi Adventure, and the KTM 250 Adventure.
