The 2023 Bentayga Extended Wheelbase (EWB) SUV by Bentley has been finally launched in India for an approximate price of Rs 6 crore (ex-showroom). The all-new Bentayga gets several significant upgrades over the standard model, including updated dimensions and a better rear seat experience.
The 2023 Bentley Bentayga Extended Wheelbase (EWB) luxury SUV has been officially launched in India for an approximate price of Rs 6 crore (ex-showroom). The Bentayga EWB was first unveiled by the VW Group-owned British luxury car manufacturer in May last year, and it is now making its way to Indian shores. The distance between the front and rear wheels of this extended version is 3,175mm, which is larger than the wheelbase of the standard Bentayga (2,995mm). The customers opting for this luxury SUV will now have 180mm more space at the rear. In addition to updated dimensions and a better rear seat experience, the 2023 Bentley Bentayga EWB receives a number of other improvements over the standard model. However, in terms of exterior appearance, the SUV has undergone only minor cosmetic changes. The longer rear door, which emphasises the model's positioning as a chauffeur-driven SUV, is certainly the most notable change. The all-new Bentley Bentayga EWB also gets revised 22-inch alloy wheels and a fresh grille with vertical slats.
The biggest mechanical improvement in this car is rear-wheel steering, which is a first for the Bentayga. The system, according to the manufacturer, not only makes the large SUV feel manoeuvrable but allows the car to have a turning circle that is smaller than the regular Bentayga's by 11.8 metres. The car also gets the 48V active anti-roll system found in the standard Bentayga. A 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine, with 542bhp of maximum power and 770Nm of peak torque, powers the SUV and is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Bentley claims it can reach 100km/h from a standstill in 4.6 seconds and can attain a top speed of 290km/h.

Bentley offers the Bentayga in three different interior configurations: the standard 5-seat layout, a new 4+1 layout with a central jump seat between the rear chairs, and a more opulent four-seat layout with individual rear seats. One of the options includes Bentley's individual ‘Airline Seats’ for the second row. The seats have 22 different electrically adjustable positions, a 40-degree recline option, and an extending leg rest for the boss seat. A seat climate control feature that adjusts to the occupant's body temperature is also exclusive to the rear seats.
Bentley is also providing customers with the option to add heated rear doors and centre armrests, power-closing rear doors, and a special LED ambient lighting pack that conceals LED components behind perforated diamond patterns in the door pads. Furthermore, there is a wide range of trim and upholstery choices available; according to Bentley, there are 24 billion possible trim combinations.
