2024 Kia Carnival Fuel Efficiency Number Revealed, Claims 14.85km/l
The 2024 Kia Carnival gets the same 2.2-litre, four-cylinder, CRDi turbocharged diesel engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission, albeit with less power and more torque.
Kia launched the facelifted Carnival MPV in early October in India, and while the company shared powertrain details of the MPV, its fuel efficiency number was not declared then. In the latest development, Kia has officially revealed the ARAI-certified fuel efficiency figure of the new Carnival. And it is rated at 14.85km/l, up by 0.95km/l. This makes the updated Carnival more fuel-efficient than its predecessor, even though the powertrain setup remains the same – a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder, CRDi turbocharged diesel engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The diesel engine in the new Carnival utilises aluminium, while the engine in the outgoing model was based on a cast iron block. The power and torque figures stand at 193bhp and 441Nm, respectively. The previous model made 200bhp and 440Nm of peak torque.

Arrived through a CKD (completely knocked down) route, the new Kia Carnival is available only in a single, fully-loaded variant – Limousine Plus. In its new avatar, the MPV brings an updated SUV-like design, an overhauled cabin, and lots of equipment, carrying a price tag of Rs 63.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Unlike the outgoing model, the new-generation Carnival comes in a seven-seat configuration.
2024 Kia Carnival: Features
While the new MPV looks sharper and boxier than its predecessor, its interior appears similar to other Kia models. Highlights include twin 12.3-inch curved screens, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual electric sunroofs, three-zone climate control, an 11-inch head-up display, a 12-way powered driver’s seat, and a 12-speaker Bose sound system. The most significant feature is the powered second-row captain seats with heating, ventilation, and extendable leg support.
2024 Kia Carnival: Safety Kit
For passenger safety, the 2024 iteration offers 8 airbags, a 360-degree camera, rear and side parking sensors, ABS with EBD, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and Level-2 ADAS features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and lane departure warning.
