Lexus India has begun bookings for the second-generation Lexus LM in India. Scheduled to be launched around the festive season, the MPV is expected to be priced more than its direct rival – Toyota Vellfire, which is currently available between Rs 1.20 crore and Rs 1.30 crore (ex-showroom).
Lexus India released a teaser for its upcoming LM luxury van in a second-generation guise a couple of days back. And now, it has revealed a fresh set of details of the 2024 LM MPV. In its new avatar, the luxury van sports some changes to the exterior, gets a host of features, and is expected to come powered by two gasoline-hybrid powertrain options. The new Lexus LM model will likely go on sale in India, probably around the holiday season, with deliveries commencing in early 2024. However, there is no official communication from the vehicle manufacturer yet. Expect the second-generation Lexus LM to be priced more than its direct rival – Toyota Vellfire, which is currently available between Rs 1.20 crore and Rs 1.30 crore (ex-showroom). Besides, the MPV will also be offered as an alternative to premium SUVs, such as the Mercedes-Benz GLS and the BMW X7.
Interested buyers can make their reservations for the updated Lexus LM, as Lexus India has now started accepting bookings for the same. Upon launch in the country, the 2024 LM will be available in 4- and 7-seater configurations. For those unaware, the model in its first-generation avatar was exclusively available in the Chinese market, but the automaker will offer the updated iteration of the LM in both left- and right-hand drive configurations in markets including the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and China.

2024 Lexus LM: Exterior, Underpinnings, Dimensions
The next-generation Lexus LM will be based on Toyota's GA-K modular platform, which also underpins the new Toyota Vellfire MPV (which arrived recently in India) as well as other models in the Toyota-Lexus lineup. On the looks front, the 2024 version gets a massive grille with hexagonal-patterned elements, Lexus' pronounced daytime running lights built into sleek LED headlights, vertical housings for the fog lamps, a large glasshouse, door-mounted outside door mirrors, a boomerang-shaped LED light bar at the back, etc. In addition, the body panels of the LM can be seen with numerous cuts and creases, dominating the brand's design language. The MPV rolls on new 17-inch or 19-inch alloy wheels.
In terms of dimensions, the LM is 5,130mm in length, 1,890mm in width, and 1,945mm in height, along with a wheelbase of 3,000mm.
2024 Lexus LM: Engine Options
As for the powertrain, the India-spec Lexus LM will have the same technical features as the global-spec model, given that it will be released as a CBU model in our country. Underneath the skin, two gasoline-hybrid powertrain options will be offered with the second-generation Lexus LM. The first will be a 2.5-litre self-charging hybrid engine, whereas the other is likely to be a more potent powertrain that will debut later – probably the 350h version as found on the Vellfire. However, official details have not been revealed by the company.
2024 Lexus LM: Interior, Features
In the Indian market, Lexus will offer the new LM in four- and seven-seater configurations. With an opulent 4-seater version, the rear occupants will get electrically operated seats, a 48.0-inch touchscreen positioned below a glass partition between the driver and passenger area, a new voice control system, and a smartphone-style control panel for seat adjustments, interior lighting, & audio settings.
Furthermore, the LM comes with a retractable leather-wrapped table that sits under the armrest, 64-colour ambient lighting, two-level dimming privacy glass, a 23-speaker surround sound system, pillow-style headrests, wireless phone chargers, USB ports, fold-out tables, a refrigerator, heated armrests & ottomans, vanity mirrors, etc. The LM is also the first car from the manufacturer to include the Rear Climate Concierge smart air conditioning system. With the aid of infrared sensors, the system locates the passenger's face, chest, thighs, and lower legs to determine how much cooling is required in the cabin and then adjusts the temperature as needed. Other bits include a newly designed headliner, an overhead console, a digital rear-view mirror, a digital infotainment system, a two-part sunroof, and an ADAS sensor suite.
