2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB India Launch Likely Around Festive Season
Mercedes-Benz has yet to reveal the launch date of the upcoming E-Class LWB, but we expect the new sedan to arrive around the festive season.
Mercedes-Benz recently took the wraps off its new-generation E-Class LWB sedan in India. Compared to its predecessor, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB is bigger, more premium, and more powerful. Mercedes-Benz has yet to reveal the launch date, but we expect the new sedan to arrive around the festive season.
The new sedan is 17mm longer than the outgoing model, at 5,092mm. The wheelbase stands at 3,094mm, which has increased by 15mm. Design-wise, the front fascia is marked by a massive grille featuring a 3D logo, which is flanked by high-performance LED headlamps. On the sides, the car features flush-fitting door handles and new wheels (18-inch units) with chunky tyres. Also new are LED taillamps with three-pointed star elements. The rear fascia also features a revised bumper with chrome inserts. The 2024 E-Class will be offered in the following colours upon launch: Nautic Blue, Obsidian Black, Polar White, High Tech Silver, and Graphite Grey.

2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB: Interior
Inside, the latest iteration offers a 'Superscreen' setup, consisting of a 14.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 12.3-inch display for the co-driver. One of the biggest highlights of the car is the rear-seat package. For rear-seat occupants, Mercedes-Benz offers electrically reclined backrests with adjustable underthigh support, which can be extended by 40mm. Other bits include soft pillow headrests, electronically controlled sun blinds, dual-zone climate control, and wireless charging.
What's more? The features list continues with a panoramic sunroof, a selfie camera, a 17-speaker Burmester 4D sound system, 64-colour ambient lighting, powered front seats, a Boss mode, and digital AC vents. For safety, the vehicle is equipped with a 360-degree camera, a tyre pressure monitor, 8 airbags, electronic stability control, parking sensors front and rear, ABS with EBD, and ADAS.
2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB: Powertrain
Under its hood, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB features either a four-cylinder petrol engine or a diesel engine. Both engines are paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system, which adds an additional 23bhp and 205Nm for 30 seconds. Transmission is taken care of by a 9-speed automatic unit, which sends power to the rear wheels.

Upon launch, the new E-Class LWB will directly rival the BMW 5-Series LWB, which costs Rs 72.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The new model will likely be priced higher than the existing Mercedes-Benz E-Class (Rs 76.05 lakh to Rs 89.15 lakh, ex-showroom).
