Here's What Nitin Gadkari Has to Say on Mahindra's New BE 6 and XEV 9e Electric SUVs
As of now, Mahindra has only revealed the prices for the entry-level models of the BE 6 (Rs 18.90 lakh) and XEV 9e (Rs 21.90 lakh), both equipped with a 59kWh battery pack.
Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari recently took to social media to share his experience with the new Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e electric SUVs. He lauded Mahindra for manufacturing top-notch EVs with modern technology and expressed delight in the fact that Indian businesses are now vying with the world's top automakers. Mahindra Chairman Anand Mahindra reposted his comment, wishing Mahindra great success, and thanked him with three ‘Namaste’ emojis. Gadkari has always been a staunch advocate for electric vehicles, reflecting the government's commitment to eco-friendly transportation solutions. His passion for EVs underscores India's push towards a greener, more sustainable future.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s test drive of the Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e was coordinated by Dr. Anish Shah, Group CEO and MD of Mahindra. Along with his team, he took the vehicles to the minister’s residence in Delhi for an up-close experience. The Mahindra BE 6 is priced at Rs 18.90 lakh, while the XEV 9e starts at Rs 21.90 lakh for the Pack 1 variant (both ex-showroom).

Although an official announcement is yet to be made, the full pricing of the SUVs is expected to be unveiled at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Expo. Read on to know some exciting highlights of these two electric Mahindra SUVs.
Mahindra BE 6, XEV 9e: Powertrain
Both the 59kWh and 79kWh battery options are available for the XEV 9e and BE 6 SUVs in India. A 227bhp electric motor powers the 59kWh model, while a more potent 282bhp motor propels the 79kWh version. The BE 6 offers a range of 682 kilometres, while the XEV 9e provides 656 kilometres with the top battery. Both models come with rear-wheel drive.
Mahindra BE 6, XEV 9e: Features
The BE 6 has a sophisticated two-screen setup, whereas the XEV 9e sports three digital screens. The XEV 9e comes with a striking dual-tone interior. Its sibling, on the other hand, features grey seat upholstery.

The BE 6 and XEV 9e are equipped with premium features, including wireless phone chargers (two on the BE 6), a panoramic sunroof, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, and multi-zone air conditioning. They feature a 360-degree camera, 7 airbags, park assist, and a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) for safety.
