India-bound 2024 Renault Duster Leaked, Shows New 'Renault' Badge, Rectangular LED Headlamps and More
The 2024 Renault Duster is built on the adaptable CMF-B platform, that also underpins models like the Sandero, the Logan, and the Jogger. The SUV is expected to come with three engine options.
With the launch of the new generation Duster SUV inching closer, Renault continues to create a buzz in the quick-paced Indian automotive sector. There is no doubt that the major car manufacturers with their slew of slated debuts are being more aggressive to satisfy consumer demand as the market for compact and mid-size SUVs keeps expanding day by day. Based on the Bigster concept, Renault's sister brand Dacia unveiled the updated model last year, and thanks to leaked photos, the Renault-badged Duster has now gained prominence. With several recent images providing a sneak peek into the styling cues and functionality of this much-anticipated offering, the enthusiasm surrounding its release has grown significantly. The 2024 iteration of the car is expected to arrive on Indian shores by the end of this year.
2024 Renault Duster: Exterior Design
The 2024 Duster is built on the adaptable CMF-B platform, that also underpins models like the Sandero, the Logan, and the Jogger. This chassis allows the SUV to be electrified while also improving space for passengers and cargo. Design-wise, the front fascia of the India-bound Duster has the most apparent alterations from the international version due to variations in the grille portion and LED headlight characteristics. Furthermore, the alloy wheels' designs vary as well between them. However, there are no changes made to the bumpers, skid plates, Y-shaped LED tail lamps, tailgate, or bonnet structure.
The SUV maintains its traditional dimensions, measuring 4,343 mm in length and 2,657 mm in wheelbase, despite these cosmetic changes, guaranteeing that the Duster's sturdy and roomy appearance is retained.
2024 Renault Duster: Expected Powertrain Options
Three petrol units will likely be available under the hood. First up is a 1.6-litre petrol mill coupled to two electric motors and an automated gearbox. It will probably churn out 140bhp of maximum power and 148Nm of torque. The second is a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, mildly hybrid mill with numerous driving modes and output ranging between 110bhp and 160bhp. It is coupled to a 48-volt electric motor and comes with a six-speed AT or a six-speed manual transmission. The last engine is a three-cylinder turbocharged petrol/LPG compatible engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission; this unit is unlikely to be introduced in India.
2024 Renault Duster: Interior and Features
The equipment list and shared technology are among the other internal similarities, which are derived from the Dacia Bigster concept. A big 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an advanced 7-inch digital instrument cluster will be standard in higher-spec variants, providing a contemporary and connected driving experience. The feature set further comprises wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a grey and black interior theme, a Y-shaped trim to the new HVAC vents, automatic climate control, a fresh flat-bottom steering wheel with mounted controls, and multiple airbags.
2024 Renault Duster: Potential Competitors
The Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos are two vehicles that the 2024 Renault Duster will go up against when it launches in India. There will probably be a 7-seater variant of the SUV as well. It will compete against rivals such as the Tata Safari, the Hyundai Alcazar, and the MG Hector Plus in this configuration. The India-spec Duster, in contrast to its European equivalent, would be produced at the Chennai-based Renault Nissan plant.
