Thanks to features such as a sunroof, multi-drive modes, ventillated Seats, and Kia Connect, 50 per cent of Kia Carens buyers prefer top- and mid-spec variants of the three-row MPV.
The Carens, Kia India's flagship offering, has surpassed the 1.50 lakh unit sales milestone within 27 months of its launch in India. This remarkable achievement comes after Kia rejigged the Carens' lineup in April 2024 with a new diesel-MT (manual transmission) powertrain, taking the total number of variants to 30. While Kia had claimed 1 lakh unit domestic sales in October 2023, the last 50,000 units took 11 months.
According to SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers), Kia India retailed 1,51,501 units of the Carens from February 2022 through to end-April 2024, constituting 26 per cent of Kia India’s overall sales (5,75,574 units). With this, the Carens MPV strengthens its position as one of the best-selling family movers in its segment. 'Carens has become a favourite among Indian families, offering them style and peace of mind on every journey. It now accounts for approximately 15% of our monthly domestic sales, and we are confident that its popularity will only grow in the coming years. We remain deeply committed to bringing innovative and high-quality vehicles to our customers and are grateful for their continuous support,' said Myung-sik Sohn, Chief Sales and Business Officer, Kia India.
