Kia Carnival Facelift Spied Completely Undisguised Ahead of Upcoming India Launch
Upon launch in India, the facelifted version of the Kia Carnival will have a close rival in the form of the Toyota Innova Hycross.
An Instagram video shows the undisguised Kia Carnival undergoing testing in India. It is the fourth-generation model already on sale in the international market. We expect it to make its India debut sometime this year. No information on its pricing is available yet, but the refreshed model could fall in the range of Rs 32 lakh to Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
The front end of the test mule appears more upright compared to its predecessor, with the characteristic tiger nose grille made wider that is flanked by vertically stacked headlamps with L-shaped daytime running lights. There is also a redesigned front bumper with a small air intake, making the car look quite rugged. Along the side, the new Carnival gets a large greenhouse shape and a new alloy wheel design. At the rear, the L-shaped treatment continues as well, with the taillights connected by an LED light bar. The tailgate and rear bumper have been updated too.

In terms of size, the Carnival facelift appears larger than its predecessor. For your reference, the Kia KA4 showcased at the Auto Expo measures 5,156mm long and 2,266mm wide. There aren't any interior images, but we expect Kia to redesign it similarly to the international-spec version. If true, expect it to offer twin curved displays for infotainment and instrumentation, both measuring 12.3 inches.
Along with this, one can also expect a heads-up display, multiple sunroofs, EV9-derived seats, revamped AC controls, a digital rear-view camera, a digital key, powered front seats, a premium sound system, a wireless charger, multiple airbags, and ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems). Overseas, the car is offered in 7-, 9-, and 11-seater configurations. It is unclear which of these will make its way here.
Kia Carnival Facelift: Engine
Expect the 198bhp, 2.2-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-diesel diesel mated to an automatic transmission for the India-spec Carnival facelift. Meanwhile, the international-spec Carnival receives three distinct engine options: 3.5-litre petrol, 1.6-litre petrol-electric, and 2.2-litre diesel. More details are yet to be made public.
