Made-in-India Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door Off-roader Exports Commence

Maruti Suzuki launched the much-anticipated Jimny in an all-new 5-door avatar in June, with a starting price of Rs 12.74 lakh. Now, the new Jimny has gone global after only a few months on the market. The premium carmaker has officially announced that it has started shipping the Jimny, made in India, across Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. According to Maruti Suzuki, it’s in line with the Government's 'Make in India' initiative. According to reports, the new Jimny's powertrain will remain the same for exports, with the exception of a few region-specific changes. While the off-roader will be available in many other nations, it will not be offered in Europe, according to reports.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-Door: Engine Specifics
The heart of the 5-door off-roader is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated K15B petrol engine, which pumps out 103bhp at 6,000rpm and 134Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm. Transmission duties are taken care of by a 4-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual. According to reports, the SUV's powertrain will remain unchanged for exports. Furthermore, due to rigorous emissions standards, the off-roader will not be available in Europe as a passenger car with its petrol drivetrain.

The India-spec Jimny includes a 9-inch multimedia touchscreen SmartPlay Pro+ with wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a leather-covered steering wheel, and more. In terms of safety, the car comes standard with six airbags, hill hold control, hill descent control, side-impact door beams, seatbelt pretensioner, a rearview camera, 3-point emergency locking retractor seatbelts, an anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and more.
