Mahindra Thar Gets New Deep Forest Colour Option in India
Mahindra has introduced a new colour option for the Thar SUV in India. Called the Deep Forest Green, the paint scheme is available for both (AX O and LX) variants of the SUV.
The Mahindra Thar is now available in India with a new colour option called the Deep Forest Green. The colour scheme is already available on multiple Mahindra SUVs, including the Scorpio N and XUV 3XO. It now joins the Thar's existing exterior paint colors, which are Desert Fury, Deep Grey, Everest White, Red Rage, and Stealth Black. The lifestyle SUV comes with two drivetrain options in India: petrol and diesel, spread across RWD and 4WD versions. Mahindra Thar: Engine
Except for the paint scheme, there are no alterations to the SUV. The vehicle continues to offer three engine options: a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine (150bhp/300Nm) and a 2.2-litre diesel engine (130bhp/300Nm). A 6-speed automatic and manual are available transmission options for these engines. A 1.5-litre diesel unit (118 PS/300 Nm) with a 6-speed manual transmission is also available in the rear-wheel drive (RWD) version. Its turbo-petrol unit comes with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Mahindra Thar: Features
The Thar SUV is equipped with cruise control, a 6-speaker sound system, manual air conditioning, a 7-inch touchscreen, and a driver seat that can be raised or lowered. It has dual front airbags, an electronic stability program (ESP), ISOFIX child seat attachments, and rear parking sensors for safety.
Mahindra Thar: Price and Competitors
The Thar is priced between Rs 11.35 lakh and Rs 17.60 lakh in India (ex-showroom). It primarily competes with the Force Gurkha and the Maruti Suzuki Jimny. Mahindra is preparing to launch the highly anticipated 5-door Thar in our market soon. While there is no confirmation, the SUV could be called the 'Thar Armada' upon arrival.

According to the previous Thar 5-door's spy photographs, the SUV will have a larger 10.25-inch infotainment screen with wireless smartphone connectivity. It will also have a single-pane sunroof, a wireless charger, a digital instrument cluster, cruise control, and a 360-degree camera.
