Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG Becomes Safer, Gets New Safety Features in India
Despite the latest updates, the cost of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG variants remains unchanged. The starting price of the model stands at Rs 9.29 lakh (ex-showroom).
One of the best-selling models in the market and a popular sub-4-metre SUV from Maruti Suzuki, the Brezza, has just received an important safety update. In its segment, the Brezza is among the few vehicles to come equipped with a company-fitted CNG kit. The SUV is available for purchase in three variants: LXi, VXi, and ZXi. However, compared to its petrol-powered counterpart, several safety elements were absent from the Brezza CNG variants. To make it safer, Maruti Suzuki decided to update the model with the lacking features as standard. As a result, the Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) and Hill Hold Assist are now on offer across all CNG versions.
The CNG-powered Brezza arrived on the market in March last year. At the time of launch, the mentioned features were a part of the SUV's safety suite. Nevertheless, the carmaker had to strip some of them from the CNG model due to a semiconductor shortage.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza: Powertrain Options
A 1.5-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol mill powers the Maruti Suzuki Brezza. This unit belts out 137Nm of maximum torque and 102bhp of peak power in the petrol version. In the CNG variant, the same engine develops 121Nm of torque and 87bhp of maximum power. The sole manual transmission option available for the Brezza CNG variant is a five-speed manual. Meanwhile, the petrol variant gets a six-speed automatic or a five-speed manual gearbox. Furthermore, the CNG-powered model has a 25.51km/kg mileage rating.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza: Feature Set
On the feature front, the Brezza CNG's top-spec model is equipped with an electric sunroof, a 7.0-inch Smartplay Pro touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and connected car technology. Apart from ESP and hill hold assist, the SUV's feature set includes dual front airbags, a rear parking camera, reverse parking sensors, and ABS with EBD. While the hill hold assist makes sure the car does not roll back on an incline, the ESP keeps the car from losing control during sudden manoeuvres.
