Maruti Suzuki Swift Blitz with These Free Accessories Launched in India

Having recently introduced the Baleno Regal Edition, Maruti Suzuki has now launched the special-edition version of the Swift hatchback in India. Dubbed the Blitz, the special edition gets a free accessories package worth Rs 49,848. This means that the new Swift Blitz is priced the same as the standard version, from Rs 6.49 lakh to Rs 8.02 lakh (ex-showroom). The Blitz is available in three variants of the hatchback – LXI, VXI, and VXI(O) – and adds a rear underbody spoiler, front fog lamps, illuminated door sills, a rear upper spoiler, door visors, and side body cladding. Other features – including a 9.0-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen, auto climate control, ISOFIX anchors, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, and seatbelt reminders – remain the same.

The Swift Blitz is the carmaker's fifth special-edition model, following the Wagon R Waltz Edition, Ignis Radiance Edition, Grand Vitara Dominion Edition, and the Baleno Regal Edition. It features a Z-series, 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine underneath the skin. Replacing the earlier K-Series engine, the new motor is tuned to produce 80bhp at 5,700rpm and 112Nm of torque at 4,300rpm, down by 9bhp and 1Nm. Maruti Suzuki also offers a CNG variant, launched last month in the country at an ex-showroom price of Rs 8.20 lakh. In CNG mode, the car makes 69bhp and 101.8Nm at 2,900rpm. Transmission options are a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed automatic.

Maruti Suzuki Swift: Mileage

As for mileage, the manual version of the petrol-powered Swift yields 24.8km/l, while the automatic version offers 25.75km/l. The CNG variant claims a fuel efficiency of 32.85km/kg (ARAI), 6 per cent over what its predecessor delivered.

In terms of market competition, the Maruti Suzuki Swift rivals the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and the Citroen C3. Moreover, it is an alternative to the Tata Tiago, Nissan Magnite, Tata Punch, and the Renault Triber.
