Mercedes-Benz has concluded the thrilling launches for India this year with the AMG C 63 S E Performance, priced at Rs 1.95 crore (ex-showroom). The German manufacturer introduced 13 models this fiscal year, the most recent of which was the AMG G 63, priced at Rs 3.60 crore (ex-showroom). The new AMG C 63 is the 14th and probably final launch for our market, and it comes with an improved powertrain layout that swaps out the V8 for a new plug-in hybrid system that comprises a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine and an electric motor mounted in the back. The sedan can reach a top speed of 280km/h and complete a sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 3.4 seconds. Bookings for the car are now underway, while deliveries will begin in Q2 2025.
Let's get into some more details about the second AMG variation in the C-Class lineup.
Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E Performance: Design
The C 63 S E has a sporty, and aggressive vibe. It stands out from the standard C-Class with an AMG-specific front grille (with vertical struts), larger front wheel arches, and aggressive-looking bumpers. The C63 comes standard with 19-inch alloy wheels, while 20-inch wheels are available as an option. It measures 1,900mm wide, 4,841mm long, and 1,458mm tall. The wheelbase sits at 2,875mm, up by 10mm.

Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E Performance: Interior
The sedan's dashboard is comparable to that of the regular C class, but it has sports seats and an AMG steering wheel. It is equipped with a range of amenities, including a head-up display, a Burmester music system, a panoramic sunroof, a centrally located touch panel with MBUX power and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, carbon fibre inserts around, and red ambient lighting.
Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E Performance: Powertrain
A 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged hybrid engine—the most potent inline-four engine in the world—replace the V8 twin-turbo engine seen in the preceding C 63. The engine has an F1-derived electronically assisted turbocharger, which eliminates lag and improves low-end performance. Power-wise, the 2.0-litre four-cylinder unit produces 469bhp on itself, while the electric motor adds 200bhp, bringing the total output to 671bhp. The torque is set at 1,020Nm. Power is distributed to all four wheels through a 9-speed automatic transmission, assisted by the company's 4Matic AWD system (standard).
The AMG C63 S E Performance's electric-alone range is only 13 kilometres. A 3.7kW onboard charger is available standard. The car also features AMG Ride Control adaptive suspension (with steel springs) and rear-wheel steering, and 8 AMG driving modes: Electric, Comfort, Battery Hold, Sport, Sport+, Race, Slippery, and Individual.
