Similar to the conventional G-Class, the EQG Electric G-Class will get a ladder-on-frame chassis tweaked to support the added weight of the battery, with four electric motors, one at each wheel.
At the 2021 Munich Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz showcased the electric version of the G-Class as the EQG concept, and now, this EQG Electric G-Class is progressing towards its production-ready version as a fresh set of its spy images have emerged online. The Mercedes-Benz EQG Electric G-Class is expected to officially debut by late 2023, followed by its launch in late 2024 or early 2025. However, there is no official communication from the automaker as yet. While the production model based on the EQG concept is yet to be revealed, we anticipate that the production version will not strain away from the EQG concept vehicle, in terms of styling. Going by the spy images, the round headlamp design seems familiar, and a piano black panel grille is expected to be found on the EQG Electric G-Class, although the car wears a camouflage wrap. Similar to the EQG concept, a 3D-illuminated three-pointer Mercedes-Benz logo integrated into the grille panel is also likely on the cards.
