MG Motor India has launched the Hector Blackstorm. Based on the Sharp Pro, the Hector Blackstorm can seat 5, 6, or 7 people. Featuring a captivating Starry black paint scheme, it radiates a sense of refinement, enhanced by the striking black interior with gunmetal accents. The Hector Blackstorm CVT starts at a price of Rs. 21.24 lakh, while the 6-seat diesel variant goes up to Rs. 22.75 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). This edition is considered a high-end option in the range. Compared to Sharp Pro, the Blackstorm edition costs 25,000 extra.
MG Hector Blackstorm Edition: Design
With its dark chrome accents on the brand insignia, diamond mesh grille, skid plates, tailboard garnish, and bodyside cladding, the Blackstorm has an alluring visual appeal. There are 18-inch black alloy wheels with eye-catching red brake callipers, as well as sleek piano black roof rails, which further enhance the appeal of the vehicle. Bright LED headlamps, adorned with a piano black bezel, light up the road. In order to give their vehicle a personalised touch, Blackstorm offers customers the option of adding a unique Blackstorm symbol.
MG Hector Blackstorm Edition: Interior
Inside, the interior is adorned with a luxurious black colour scheme with gunmetal accents. Everything in the car is black, from the doors to the seats to the dash. Embroidered Blackstorm logos adorn the front headrests, adding a touch of personalization.
Blackstorm features a 14-inch HD Portrait infotainment system and is based on the Sharp Pro. The system works seamlessly with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, making driving more convenient and connected. Additionally, drivers get a digital instrument display, a wireless charger, and a digital key for increased convenience.
MG Hector Blackstorm Edition: Engine
A variety of engine choices are available for both the petrol engine (CVT) and the diesel engine (MT) in the Hector Blackstorm and Hector Plus Blackstorm (7-seater). The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine produces a strong performance of 141bhp and 250Nm of torque, while the 2.0-litre diesel engine generates an impressive 168bhp and 350Nm of torque.
With 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), front and rear parking sensors, all-wheel disc brakes, a tyre pressure monitor (TPMS), hill hold, and a 360-degree camera, this variant is pretty comprehensive when it comes to safety. Still, MG Hector Blackstorm edition lacks Level 2 ADAS features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and automated emergency braking.
