MG Windsor Clocks 3,116 Units to Become Best-selling EV in October 2024
MG delivered 3,116 units of the Windsor in October 2024, making up around 30 per cent of the company's total passenger electric vehicle sales in India.
JSW MG Motor India launched its first intelligent CUV – the Windsor EV – in September 2024 and within a month of the commencement of its sales, the CUV has crossed the 3,000-unit sales mark in India. Last month, MG delivered 3,116 units of the Windsor, making up around 30 per cent of the company's total passenger electric vehicle sales in India. This also means that the Windsor EV was the best-selling EV in October 2024.
MG registered a 31 per cent YoY (year-on-year) growth with 7,045 units sold last month, constituting the highest-ever sales figure since the company's inception. In a year-ago period, the company's sales stood at 5,108 units. MG says its 'focus on sustainable mobility solutions for a cleaner tomorrow' yielded 'encouraging results', with its New Energy Vehicle (NEV) portfolio contributing to 70 per cent of total sales.

MG Windsor EV: Technical Specifications
India's first Intelligent CUV, the Windsor EV, comes in three variants – Excite, Essence, and Exclusive – and gets an IP67-rated 38kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with a 332-kilometre claimed range. The battery sends power to a permanent magnet synchronous motor and can be charged in 55 minutes using a DC fast charger with a capacity of up to 45kW. The motor is tuned to develop 134bhp and 220Nm of peak torque.
Under BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service), the MG Windsor EV is priced from Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 11.99 lakh, with Rs 3.5 per km. The car as a whole can be had at a starting price of Rs 13.50 lakh. The prices are ex-showroom.
MG Windsor EV: Features
In terms of instrumentation, the EV gets a 15.6-inch 'Grandview' main touchscreen, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity. The car also has aero-lounge rear seats (with a 135-degree reclining capability), a leather-wrapped 2-spoke steering wheel, a panoramic glass roof, 256 multi-colour LED ambient lighting, a 9-speaker Infinity sound system, connected car tech, and rear AC vents.
Safety-wise, the vehicle is equipped with a 360-degree surround-view camera system, six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), an electronic parking brake with auto hold, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

The MG Windsor is available in four exterior finishes – Starburst Black, Pearl White, Clay Beige, and Turquoise Green – and competes against the Tata Nexon EV, Curvv EV, and the Mahindra XUV400 in the country.
