MG ZS EV Excite Pro Variant Launched in India at Rs 19.98 Lakh, Gets Dual-pane Panoramic Sunroof
The most recent version of the MG ZS EV is priced between Rs 18.98 lakh and Rs 24.98 lakh and comes in four variants: Executive, Excite Pro, Exclusive Plus, and Essence.
Intending to increase the affordability of its electric vehicles and to cater to a wider range of car buyers, MG Motor India has made significant changes to its EV line. The British manufacturer recently rolled out a brand-new Excite Pro variant for our market, retailing at a competitive ex-showroom price of Rs 19.98 lakh. It sits above the base Executive trim and costs Rs 1 lakh more than the Excite Pro. The most interesting aspect of this new variant is that it comes with a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, making it the only EV under Rs 20 lakh to boast this feature. Commenting on the latest addition, Gaurav Gupta, Deputy Managing Director, MG Motor India, said, “MG is committed to continuously innovating and offering exciting products to customers at attractive value propositions. After taking customer feedback, using market insights and industry analysis, we have introduced the new variants of our EVs- MG ZS and Comet.”
MG ZS EV: Price
The most recent version of the MG ZS EV is priced between Rs 18.98 lakh and Rs 24.98 lakh and comes in four variants: Executive, Excite Pro, Exclusive Plus, and Essence. This means that the price of the top-of-the-line Essence variant remains the same as before at Rs 24.98 lakh. All mentioned costs are ex-showroom.
MG ZS EV: Battery Pack and Range Details
The MG ZS EV is powered by a 50.3kWh lithium-ion battery and an electric motor. The electric powertrain produces 174bhp of maximum power and 280Nm of peak torque, while the battery has a maximum driving range of 461-kilometre (claimed). According to the carmaker, the battery meets both the UL2580 Safety Management System and the ASIL-D Enhanced Safety Integrity Level standards, as well as being IP69K certified for greater dust and water resistance. A 7kW charger will fully charge this battery in 9 hours, however, a 50kW charger will take 60 minutes to reach 80 per cent charge.
MG ZS EV: Interior Features
On the feature front, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a panoramic sunroof, a fully digital instrument cluster, an electric parking brake, drive modes, an air purifier, rear AC vents, cruise control, an air purifier, and wireless charging are all included in the MG ZS EV's interior. There are also more than 75 connected car features available, such as the first digital key in the industry that enables you to start, lock, unlock, and even drive the car without a physical key.
MG ZS EV: Safety Features and Market Competitors
When it comes to the safety suite, the car gets 6 airbags—dual, front, side, and curtain—along with hill-start assist, hill descent control, electronic stability control, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and more. The variants with the ADAS suite boast 17 features such as forward collision warning, speed assist system, adaptive cruise control, blind spot recognition, lane departure warning, and traffic jam assist.
Lastly, speaking of market rivalry, the ZS EV is MG Motor's answer to the likes of the BYD Atto 3, the Tata Nexon, the Mahindra XUV400, and the Hyundai Kona Electric, among other models.
MG Comet Gets Two New Variants
The Comet EV variant lineup has also undergone modifications by the automaker. Two additional versions of the compact electric car called Exclusive and Excite, are now available with fast charging. The starting price of the EV will remain at Rs 6.98 lakh (ex-showroom) even after these updates. As for the new Excite FC and Exclusive FC models, their ex-showroom prices stand at Rs 8.23 lakh and Rs 9.13 lakh, respectively.
