New Maserati GranTurismo India Launch Tomorrow; Here's What You Need to Know

Maserati is all set to introduce the new GranTurismo in India tomorrow. The Grand Tourer is available globally in three variants: Modena, Trofeo, and Folgore. The first two are ICE models, whereas the third is an electric variant. Although there hasn't been a formal announcement, the Italian carmaker will bring the car here in ICE form first, followed by an electric configuration sometime later. In its ICE configuration, the GranTurismo runs on a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine (situated behind the front axle), which produces 483bhp/600Nm and 550bhp/650Nm, in the base Modena and performance-focused Trofeo models, respectively. The entry-level model boasts a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 302km/h. In contrast, the more powerful Trofeo features a sprint time of 3.5 seconds and a maximum speed of 320km/h. While Maserati has yet to make an announcement, we anticipate both of these models to go on sale in India.

Coming to the electric variant, the Folgore gets a tri-motor all-wheel-drive system with a total power rating of 751bhp and 1,350Nm. It boasts a top speed of 325km/h and a 0-100km/h sprint time of 2.7 seconds. Maserati offers a 92.5 kWh battery with the car that allows it to cover a range of 450 kilometres on a single charge. 

Maserati GranTurismo: Exterior and Interior

While embracing a modern style, the second-gen GranTurismo keeps the low-slung posture and sleek lines of the previous generation model. It has big vents on the front bumper, a splitter, a massive Maserati Trident emblem within the grille, slender vertical headlights, and slim triangle taillights. The battery-powered Folgore variant gets the same look as its ICE counterparts, except for the unique bumpers and fender badging. 

The GranTurismo's interior now boasts several touch-based controls and digital panels in place of the traditional buttons. It comes with huge central touchscreen and digital instrument display, as well as, an adjustable digital screen in place of the traditional analog dashboard watch. Moreover, the primary 12.3-inch screen is now accompanied by a secondary 8.8-inch touchscreen that controls the seat and air conditioning.

Maserati GranTurismo: Expected Price

The upcoming ICE-powered GranTurismo will likely cost more than Rs 2.5 crore (ex-showroom, India). It will compete with the Bentley Continental GT, the Ferrari Roma, the Aston Martin Vantage, and the Porsche 911.
